24-year-old fatally shot in NYC; two persons of interest in custody: cops​

A 24-year-old Brooklyn man was fatally shot in the stomach in New York City Saturday night and cops have taken two people into custody, authorities said.
Daequan Buckley, of Flatbush, was found with multiple gunshot wounds when police reached 54th Street and Church Avenue at around 8:45 p.m. in East Flatbush, cops said.

The victim was rushed to Brookdale hospital in likely condition with CPR in progress.

He was taken to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Two persons of interest were in police custody, the NYPD said.


One of those individuals was found with a gun on him, law enforcement sources said.

A motive behind the gunfire was unknown, but a witness told the Daily News that Buckley was sitting behind the wheel of a BMW and was shot by a passenger inside the car.


Charges were pending Sunday night.
