NEW ORLEANS -- Two Orleans Parish Criminal Sheriff's deputues were arrested Thursday.

Elvin King and Jeff Lawrence each were booked with malfeasance in office and injuring public records. They are accused of destroying records of the New Orleans Municipal Court, but no further details were released.
King and Lawrence were immediately suspended from their jobs, Sheriff Marlon Gusman said.
Gusman would say only that the arrests were the result of a complaint th
at prompted an internal investigation by the sheriff's office.
