Fugitive accused of exposing himself at Target

CLEVELAND -- A convicted child rapist, who may have had his eyes on another little girl, is the Fugitive of the Week.

Police told Channel 3's News says the man may be stalking potential victims at local Target stores.
His face is well known to police. Clifford D. Jones of Cleveland is a sexually oriented offender listed on the sheriff's website.
In 1985 he raped a 12-year-old girl and did 17 years in prison.
His face is also on a surveillance video, taken in th
e Bedford Target store at Rockside and Northfield.
At eleven in the morning of April 23rd, Clifford Jones came to this store and immediately made security guards suspicious. They saw him going from aisle to aisle, as if he were following someone.
"They thought he was a shoplifter," said Sergeant Tim Olesiak. "They started monitoring him on videotape and after monitoring him for about five minutes, they observed him exposing himself to a young girl inside the Target store."
Jones had his pants unbuckled and continued to follow the little girl as security cameras tried to follow him.
"One of their security officers called the Bedford police department," said Sergeant Olesiak. "As our offices arrived, he exited the store, got into a car and was leaving the lot onto Northfield Road as our officers approached.&quo

r>Jones jumped into his car and sped away. Police would have chased him, but it was late morning and Northfield and Rockside roads were packed.
They broke off the pursui
t, but not before they got Jones' license number. It is DEK 2546. He was driving a white 1992 Dodge minivan.
Jones is 46-years old, 5'10" and about 170 pounds. Any information should be called into the fugitive hotline, at 1-866-4WANTED. There is a reward.
A few days before the Bedford incident, police say Jones exposed himself to children inside the Target store in University Heights.
He has three addresses on the east side of Cleveland.
