DETROIT -- Two teenagers face mandatory life sentences after being convicted Thursday in Detroit of murdering the grandmother of one of the girls.
Officials say the pair killed the grandmother because she opposed their lesbian relationship.
After beating her to death with a claw hammer last summer, they went to a movie
The granddaughter was also convicted of arson for setting her grandmother's house on fire.
The 17-year-old and 16-year-old are due to be sentenced April 13.
