Biden White House Calls for Banning 'Extremist Websites' and 'Hate Speech' in 'National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism'​

The Biden White House on Thursday called on "all online platforms" to ban "extremist websites," ban "hate speech" and institute "zero tolerance" policies to protect Jews from antisemitism.

The bold and highly illegal censorship effort forms the cornerstone of the White House's new "National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism."




The Anti-Defamation League took credit for crafting the vast majority of the plan.



"To counter hate and antisemitism," the plan says, "the Biden-Harris Administration encourages all online platforms to independently commit to the following actions":
- Ensure terms of service and community standards explicitly cover antisemitism. The Administration commends platforms with terms of service and community standards that establish "zero-tolerance" for hate speech, including antisemitism. All online platforms are encouraged to adopt zero-tolerance terms of service and community standards.

- Permanently ban repeat offenders, both personal accounts and extremist websites.

- Invest in the human and technical resources necessary to enable vigorous and timely enforcement of their terms of service and community standards. Currently, many platforms do not adequately invest in enforcement of their terms of service and community standards, and numerous platforms have recently shed significant portions of their trust and safety workforces, leading to documented increases in hate speech on their platforms.

- Improve capabilities to stop recommending and de-rank antisemitic and other hateful content. Extensive research has shown that online platforms’ algorithmic recommendation and ranking systems—depending on the incentives driving them—can amplify and spread extremist and antisemitic content.

- Increase the transparency of their algorithmic recommendation systems and data, and allow for public interest research to ascertain how these systems amplify and spread hate speech and antisemitic content to inform better content moderation tools and approaches. Antisemitism should be treated as a distinct category in transparency reports, and platforms should report on the volume of antisemitic content adjudicated on platforms.

- Encourage and support trusted community moderators who receive dedicated, ongoing training in hate speech and bias, including antisemitism and its tropes.

- Use their reach to raise awareness of antisemitism while also ensuring users have credible and factual information about Jewish people, antisemitism, and the Holocaust.

- Engage frequently with civil society groups that actively monitor antisemitism in media and online to stay abreast of the latest developments.

- Listen to the concerns of Jewish communities around the world to understand how Jewish users experience antisemitism and hate on their platforms and ensure antisemitism is understood, recognized, and properly addressed.

- Establish relationships with Jewish community organizations to share best practices related to reporting hate speech and utilizing platforms to lift up Jewish stories.

The White House on Thursday pledged to increase federal efforts to combat rising antisemitism with new initiatives aimed at improving public awareness in places such as schools and college campuses and offering more community training to encourage the reporting of hate crimes.

In its national strategy to counter antisemitism, the White House also calls on social media companies to more aggressively prevent the spread of hate speech and anti-Jewish content online. It asks Congress to hold accountable those platforms that do not provide transparency on how such content is disseminated.

The plan lays out dozens of commitments from the Biden administration to help protect Jewish communities, while calling on Congress and local governments to follow suit.

[...] White House officials touted the scheduled opening next year at the Holocaust Memorial Museum of the first U.S.-based Holocaust research center as part of a broader federal effort to increase education about the dangers of antisemitism. Federal agencies are committing to more training around diversity, equity and inclusion to root out workplace discrimination and violence.

The Homeland Security Department and Justice Department will conduct community workshops to counter hate-motivated violence, and the National Security Council will develop technical assistance for local jurisdictions to monitor and prevent attacks, officials said.

"When they say stuff like this, they mean they want to go after conservatives," Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert (R) said in response to the plan. "Their tactics are straight out of the USSR's playbook."

No other elected Republican or Democrat has criticized the plan.

President Joe Biden likely used his time as vice president to set up himself and his family members finically, House Oversight and Accountability Committee Chair James Comer, R-Ky., said.

Biden did this, not anticipating that he would eventually become president, Comer said to the Washington Times.
According to Comer, then-vice-president Biden was fo used to setting up family members as highly paid business consultants overseas.
“Everywhere where there are odd payments, the president spent time toward the end of his vice presidency,” Comer told the Times.

Under then-President Obama, Biden went to China, Russia, Ukraine, Romania, and other countries, including Mexico. These are all places where Hunter Biden and Joe Biden’s brother James pursued profitable business deals.
“He [the then-vice president] was setting it up for them to be consultants, which are essentially foreign agents, for some of these countries,” Comer told the Times.
“It would look bad for the vice president to do that. I think he was trying to set it up for his son and brother.”

Comer, who has examined thousands of bank records, said payments of such foreign deals ended up in the bank accounts of nine Biden family members. Comer said the committee was pursuing more records from as many as eight banks that he thinks will expose additional Biden family businesses, and deals in other foreign countries.
“I think there are more companies, more banks and more Bidens involved in the foreign business deals,” Comer told the Times.

Comer last week said it was “more than likely” his panel will issue subpoenas for Biden family members in its investigation of their alleged business connections with foreign nationals.
The Times reported that Comer will seek financial records that Hunter Biden has been ordered to produce in an Arkansas court case involving his child support payments to an out-of-wedlock 4-year-old daughter whom he refuses to acknowledge.

Comer said the documents could show whether Hunter Biden has money stored in offshore bank accounts.
The Washington Free Beacon reported earlier this week that Hunter Biden met with a State Department official in March 2016 on behalf of Romanian real estate tycoon Gabriel Popoviciu. Popoviciu paid Biden more than $1 million to help him deal with his corruption case.

It’s not the first time that Hunter Biden and Boies Schiller, led by Democratic mega-donor David Boies, contacted the State Department on behalf of foreign clients without registering as lobbyists.
The Free Beacon reported that Biden and lawyers from Boies Schiller hatched a plan in 2014 to meet with State Department officials on behalf of Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian gas company whose owner was accused of bribery. A Boies Schiller partner wrote to Biden that she would arrange State Department meetings and conduct other activity “right up to the line” where the firm would have to register as a lobbyist.
A consulting firm that Biden tapped to work with him on the Burisma case, Blue Star Strategies, registered its work for the Ukrainian company under the Foreign Agents Registration Act following a Justice Department investigation into its foreign lobbying.

A former chair to President Joe Biden’s 2020 campaign has been found to have accepted donations from Hunter Biden and sought advice on Ukraine, according to emails obtained by Fox News.
Democratic Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-DE), one of Biden’s national co-chairs along with Sen. Chris Coons (D-DE), was receiving donations from the embattled first son as far back as 2016 during her first campaign for Congress. Emails between Blunt Rochester and Hunter Biden show the congresswoman thanking him for “generous contributions” totaling $3,000. Fox previously reported that Hunter Biden served as an outside advisor to Sen. Coons during his 2010 campaign, making Rep. Blunt Rochester the second Biden campaign co-chair to seek his advice on international affairs.

“I can’t thank you enough. You know that it’s not easy running for any office. It means a lot to have you on my team,” Rep. Blunt Rochester wrote to Hunter Biden in February of 2016.
Less than an hour later, Hunter Biden replied with promises of a second fundraiser to which Blunt Rochester asked if he could brief her “on the Ukraine.”
The correspondence started just one day after Hunter Biden thanked the president of Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings for gifts he received for his birthday. The first son was a member of the company’s board between 2013 and 2019.
The House Oversight Committee, led by Rep. James Comer (R-KY), is exploring whether Hunter Biden committed any crimes during his time as a lobbyist on behalf of Burisma and other foreign companies. Key to the investigation is whether President Biden, then Vice President, was aware or even sanctioned any illegal activity. Newly released emails show Hunter Biden was regularly emailing the Obama White House about his lobbying work, giving his father clear access to his business dealings. As Vice President, Joe Biden took a leading role in pressuring Ukraine to fire state actors he believed to be corrupt, though the president has maintained his actions in the country were not related to his son’s lobbying efforts.
On Thursday Rep. Comer unveiled that the FBI spoke with an informant as far back as 2016 who claimed President Biden accepted a bribe as part of Hunter Biden’s work in Ukraine. The tip came at the same time that Rep. Blunt Rochester was accepting Hunter Biden’s advice on Ukraine.

And, she was willing to give up all of the offshore bank accounts, including the Bidens’ accounts. She supervised the transfer of a lot more cash to the Bidens and other crooked politicians for Burisma.

Rudy Giuliani: The reality is that we gave it to them in January of 2020, and the Pittsburgh US attorney was very interested. And then in a very strange move, Barr took it away from him, gave it to the US attorney in Delaware. He didn’t do a damn thing about it. And the woman was under threat of death. So we tried to put pressure on them to do something. Look, suppose she was lying. You would find out in a minute she wouldn’t have the accounts. She either has the goods or she doesn’t. And it’s absurd not to interview her. She claims she had bank accounts and that the Biden’s got a lot more money under the table than already. We had $8 million on the table that we could prove, which they could prove tomorrow if they wanted to they could have proved it three years ago, Rita. They could have indicted him before he ran for president and obviated this problem. We could have found out if he was innocent or guilty in January of 2020. All the witnesses were there, and I have him on tape like Schokin. Schokin was willing to come and testify.
