MURDER
A few minutes after midnight 2006, 32-year-old Paul Kelly was murdered in Bath.
Paul was stabbed repeatedly outside the Longacre Tavern following a row that started in the pub.
Paul's and his friends were out celebrating the New Year when, just after midnight, they got into an argument with a black woman and her friends. Paul did his best to seperate the two sides and things quietened down.
However, after a few minutes the row started up again. It spilled out into the street outside the pub and, once again, Paul was seen trying to calm things down. Despite his easily perceived role as peacemaker, a black youth, who had not been associated with the original argument, emerged from the crowd and began stabbing Paul repeatedly.
One of the blows pierced his heart and he died almost immediately.
In March 2007, Paul's killer had still not been apprehended, even though many of the pub-goers must have known his identity. However, after a £10,000 reward was posted on BBC's Crimewatch, one name was repeatedly mentioned and the police now seem to be closing in on the murderer.

In January 2006, 18-year-old Mahir Osman was murdered by a large mob of black youths outside Camden Town tube station.
He was punched, kicked and attacked with baseball bats, bottles and hammers, before being stabbed 20 times.
Faisal Wangita was jailed for five years for conspiracy to wound with intent and violent disorder. He was one of 13 black youths convicted of similar offences.
He is the son of Ugandan dictator, Idi Amin!

In January 2006, Dr Tarek Saba was found guilty of grievous bodily harm and jailed for 18 months at Sheffield Crown Court.
Saba, a hospital consultant in Sheffield's Royal Hallamshire Hospital, fractured a baby's skull when he threw her on to the floor. He had claimed in court that he was trying to throw the baby on to a beanbag to stop her crying and she had hit her head on the floor accidentally.
He was not believed.
However, at a later hearing of the General Medical Council, the panel's chairman, Patrick Conway, said it was in the public interest for a "competent and indeed exceptional" doctor to continue working and added:
"The panel notes that you have demonstrated genuine remorse and insight into your behaviour and the offence".
The GMC top blokes then agreed that Saba should NOT be struck off.
His 18-month sentence had, previously, been reduced to 5 months by the Court of Appeal.

On the 2nd of January, 2006, Aaron Stokes, a homeless man, was stabbed at the Centrepoint Hostel, in New Cross.
He was taken to King's College Hospital in London where he died shortly after arrival.
Albanian Asylum seekers, Dezdemona and Renata Mitre, who are mother and daughter, pleaded not guilty to Aaron's murder at the Old Bailey in April, 2006. They also denied destroying evidence relating to his murder.
I have not been able to determine Aaron's ethnicity, thus, this case will not be added to the MURDER statistics.
MURDER
On the 3rd of January 2006, 18-year-old Thomas Winston was murdered in Kentish Town, north London.
Thomas was seen arguing with a black youth who, subsequently smashed the windscreen of his car and stabbed him in the chest.
He died at the scene.
A teenager was arrested later.

MANSLAUGHTER
On 7 January 2006, teenager Thomas Robinson was killed when his moped was hit by a car in Enfield, north London.
Hilmi Uludag, who was seen dangerously overtaking a vehicle before slamming into Thomas, did not hold a full licence, was unfamilar with the car and fled from the scene after the collision.
In court, Uludag claimed he was not speeding or driving dangerously and said that Thomas WAS speeding
However, the jury did not believe him and he was found guilty of causing death by dangerous driving.
Caley Robinson, Thomas’s sister, said:
"It was really hard when he was saying that it was Tom's fault, when you are hearing that and all of the details.
If he had been doing the speed limit Tom would still be here."
MURDER
On the 9th of January, 2006, 21-year-old Matthew Smith was murdered in Streatham, South London.
Matthew and several of his friends were sitting in his Volkswagen Golf, when a silver-coloured coupe drew up alongside and five black youths emerged.
They surrounded the lads and demanded their mobile phones.
At this point, Jason Campbell drew a handgun and shot Matthew twice as he made to drive off.
He died at the scene despite the efforts of his friends to save him.
Subsequently, Campbell was convicted of Matthew's murder and Daniel Springer was convicted of his manslaughter. Bothe men were also found guilty of the robbery of Matthew and his friends. A third man Omar Parchment, was acquitted of murder and robbery.

MURDER
On the 11th of January, 2006, 17-year-old Anita Quartly was killed when the bus, in which she was travelling, crashed on the A377, Lapford to Copplestone road, in Devon.
Robert Botur, a Polish immigrant who was driving unsupervised for the first time, hit a car coming in the opposite direction as he drove on the wrong side of the road.
Botur, who was recruited from Poland by the bus company, was jailed for two years.

On the 11th of January, 2006, the Bedford Police released this statement:
"Police have urgently stepped up their hunt for three vicious mini-thugs - two black, one white - believed to be as young as 13-14, who carried out an horrific robbery attack on an innocent 44-year-old man near Reading town centre in the early hours of New Year's Day. The mind-numbing ferocity of the incident is said to involve the man having his eyelids and one ear cut off.
The victim was walking alongside Kennet Side, Reading, when he was attacked as he came out from under the King’s Road bridge. He was punched to the ground by the first offender and then kicked in the head and body by all three members of the group.
The young thugs then demanded money and temporarily stopped the attack while the victim handed over his wallet and £1.50. The offenders said that this was not enough and began to attack him again.
The attack happened between 3am and 4.15am on New Year’s Day. The victim was treated at the Royal Berkshire Hospital where he remained for four days. He received more than 100 stitches to repair damage to an eye and ear and also required surgery to repair some nerve damage."
Two of the attackers were black, the other was white.
MURDER
On the 12th of January, 2006, 31-year-old city lawyer, Thomas ap Rhys Price, was murdered in Willesden, north-west London.
Donnel Carty and Delano Brown mugged him just a short distance from his home and he handed over what he had. Thomas thought his ordeal was over as they let him go at this point. But then, for no reason whatsoever, they followed him up the street, accosted him again and began stabbing him repeatedly.
In court, both men, who had mugged a middle-aged man earlier in the evening, blamed each other for the killing.
Sarah Teather, Lib Dem MP for Brent East has only been an MP for a year or so and yet she has built an impressive PC profile.

MURDER
A few minutes after midnight 2006, 32-year-old Paul Kelly was murdered in Bath.
Paul was stabbed repeatedly outside the Longacre Tavern following a row that started in the pub.
Paul's and his friends were out celebrating the New Year when, just after midnight, they got into an argument with a black woman and her friends. Paul did his best to seperate the two sides and things quietened down.
However, after a few minutes the row started up again. It spilled out into the street outside the pub and, once again, Paul was seen trying to calm things down. Despite his easily perceived role as peacemaker, a black youth, who had not been associated with the original argument, emerged from the crowd and began stabbing Paul repeatedly.
One of the blows pierced his heart and he died almost immediately.
In March 2007, Paul's killer had still not been apprehended, even though many of the pub-goers must have known his identity. However, after a £10,000 reward was posted on BBC's Crimewatch, one name was repeatedly mentioned and the police now seem to be closing in on the murderer.

In January 2006, 18-year-old Mahir Osman was murdered by a large mob of black youths outside Camden Town tube station.
He was punched, kicked and attacked with baseball bats, bottles and hammers, before being stabbed 20 times.
Faisal Wangita was jailed for five years for conspiracy to wound with intent and violent disorder. He was one of 13 black youths convicted of similar offences.
He is the son of Ugandan dictator, Idi Amin!

In January 2006, Dr Tarek Saba was found guilty of grievous bodily harm and jailed for 18 months at Sheffield Crown Court.
Saba, a hospital consultant in Sheffield's Royal Hallamshire Hospital, fractured a baby's skull when he threw her on to the floor. He had claimed in court that he was trying to throw the baby on to a beanbag to stop her crying and she had hit her head on the floor accidentally.
He was not believed.
However, at a later hearing of the General Medical Council, the panel's chairman, Patrick Conway, said it was in the public interest for a "competent and indeed exceptional" doctor to continue working and added:
"The panel notes that you have demonstrated genuine remorse and insight into your behaviour and the offence".
The GMC top blokes then agreed that Saba should NOT be struck off.
His 18-month sentence had, previously, been reduced to 5 months by the Court of Appeal.

On the 2nd of January, 2006, Aaron Stokes, a homeless man, was stabbed at the Centrepoint Hostel, in New Cross.
He was taken to King's College Hospital in London where he died shortly after arrival.
Albanian Asylum seekers, Dezdemona and Renata Mitre, who are mother and daughter, pleaded not guilty to Aaron's murder at the Old Bailey in April, 2006. They also denied destroying evidence relating to his murder.
I have not been able to determine Aaron's ethnicity, thus, this case will not be added to the MURDER statistics.
MURDER
On the 3rd of January 2006, 18-year-old Thomas Winston was murdered in Kentish Town, north London.
Thomas was seen arguing with a black youth who, subsequently smashed the windscreen of his car and stabbed him in the chest.
He died at the scene.
A teenager was arrested later.

MANSLAUGHTER
On 7 January 2006, teenager Thomas Robinson was killed when his moped was hit by a car in Enfield, north London.
Hilmi Uludag, who was seen dangerously overtaking a vehicle before slamming into Thomas, did not hold a full licence, was unfamilar with the car and fled from the scene after the collision.
In court, Uludag claimed he was not speeding or driving dangerously and said that Thomas WAS speeding
However, the jury did not believe him and he was found guilty of causing death by dangerous driving.
Caley Robinson, Thomas’s sister, said:
"It was really hard when he was saying that it was Tom's fault, when you are hearing that and all of the details.
If he had been doing the speed limit Tom would still be here."
MURDER
On the 9th of January, 2006, 21-year-old Matthew Smith was murdered in Streatham, South London.
Matthew and several of his friends were sitting in his Volkswagen Golf, when a silver-coloured coupe drew up alongside and five black youths emerged.
They surrounded the lads and demanded their mobile phones.
At this point, Jason Campbell drew a handgun and shot Matthew twice as he made to drive off.
He died at the scene despite the efforts of his friends to save him.
Subsequently, Campbell was convicted of Matthew's murder and Daniel Springer was convicted of his manslaughter. Bothe men were also found guilty of the robbery of Matthew and his friends. A third man Omar Parchment, was acquitted of murder and robbery.

MURDER
On the 11th of January, 2006, 17-year-old Anita Quartly was killed when the bus, in which she was travelling, crashed on the A377, Lapford to Copplestone road, in Devon.
Robert Botur, a Polish immigrant who was driving unsupervised for the first time, hit a car coming in the opposite direction as he drove on the wrong side of the road.
Botur, who was recruited from Poland by the bus company, was jailed for two years.

On the 11th of January, 2006, the Bedford Police released this statement:
"Police have urgently stepped up their hunt for three vicious mini-thugs - two black, one white - believed to be as young as 13-14, who carried out an horrific robbery attack on an innocent 44-year-old man near Reading town centre in the early hours of New Year's Day. The mind-numbing ferocity of the incident is said to involve the man having his eyelids and one ear cut off.
The victim was walking alongside Kennet Side, Reading, when he was attacked as he came out from under the King’s Road bridge. He was punched to the ground by the first offender and then kicked in the head and body by all three members of the group.
The young thugs then demanded money and temporarily stopped the attack while the victim handed over his wallet and £1.50. The offenders said that this was not enough and began to attack him again.
The attack happened between 3am and 4.15am on New Year’s Day. The victim was treated at the Royal Berkshire Hospital where he remained for four days. He received more than 100 stitches to repair damage to an eye and ear and also required surgery to repair some nerve damage."
Two of the attackers were black, the other was white.
MURDER
On the 12th of January, 2006, 31-year-old city lawyer, Thomas ap Rhys Price, was murdered in Willesden, north-west London.
Donnel Carty and Delano Brown mugged him just a short distance from his home and he handed over what he had. Thomas thought his ordeal was over as they let him go at this point. But then, for no reason whatsoever, they followed him up the street, accosted him again and began stabbing him repeatedly.
In court, both men, who had mugged a middle-aged man earlier in the evening, blamed each other for the killing.
