In what is being termed the second largest amount of heroin seized in city history, nearly $20,000 of the drug was found in a West Fourth Street home in the city's Newberry neighborhood late Tuesday afternoon, city police said.
The confiscation resulted in the arrest of Nigel Jackson, a 35-year-old Philadelphia man accused of dealing heroin out of a home at 2517 W. Fourth St., which is listed as his local address, police said.
Jackson said that in the last year he traveled every two weeks to Newark, N.J., to buy 500 bags - or 10 bricks - of heroin for $250 per brick, police said.
