Football player arrested for sexual assault (complete article at link)

Eric Wright, a starting cornerback on the football team who intercepted a pass in the Orange Bowl, was arrested early Saturday morning by the Los Angeles Police Department for allegedly sexually assaulting a female student in his apartment at Cardinal Gardens.
LAPD arrived at the apartment complex at about 3:30 a.m. Saturday after receiving a repo
rt of a sexual assault, said Det. Jesse Alvarado of the Los Angeles Police Department, Robbery-Homicide Division.
The student did
not notify police of the incident; Department of Public Safety officers found her in Cardinal Gardens and then notified LAPD, police said.
Wright was arrested soon after LAPD responded and is currently being held in the Southwest jail, where he is expected to stay until his Wednesday court appearance, Alvarado said.
