UK Women's Basketball Freshman Suspended After Felony Theft Arrest
A UK women's basketball player has been suspended from the team after being arrested on a felony charge.
LEX 18 Sports has learned that freshman Sade Buley spent a couple of hours in the Fayette County Detention Center Thursday before being released. She has been charged with felony theft by unlawful taking. Sources tell LEX 18 that Buley took more than $600 from an office in Memorial Coliseum, and that Buley has admitted to the theft and returned the money.
Buley's played in all seven of Kentucky's games this year and is averaging four points a game. Buley is one of the highly-touted freshmen Micki
e DeMoss brought in this year.
According to UK assistant athletic director Scott Striklin, Buley has been suspended f
rom the team indefinitely, and that they have no other comment at this time.
