NEW YORK (WABC) -- A robbery pattern in the Northside of Brooklyn has residents concerned for their safety. The incidents happened a dozen or so blocks from each other and police are now wondering if the robberies are connected.

Area resident, David Fraiden says he and his neighbors are on alert.
"As a resident of the area I think it does frighten me," said Fraiden. The two robberies, one at north 9th and Kent, have investigators looking for three or four suspects who threatened their victims at gunpoint.

And police say there appear to be similarities. The first robbery on May 11th was near north 9th street and Withers. The attacker is described as an African American male, five-eleven, who use
d a handgun to force the 33 year old victim into a car and then robbed him.

On May 22 at North 9th Street and Kent, just several blocks from the first attack, police say two African American males, one described as being about 6 foot, 220 lbs with brown eyes and black hair, also used a gun to force the 21 year old victim into a car and robbing him.

In both incidents, the victims were dropped off unharmed a short time later. In addition, both robberies occurred around 10:15 p.m.

In Northside where old commercial property is giving way to new apartment buildings and new businesses, people in the community are thinking of taking more caution.

"Just be aware of your surroundings," said resident Laura Inserra.
