Boy Was Subject Of Robbery Investigation

Philadelphia police have arrested a 14-year-old boy in connection with several attempted rapes in the Olney and Logan sections of the city.
Police said it was a lengthy robbery investigation that led them to the suspect. The alleged sexual predator is now behind bars.
At a news conference Thursday, police said they arre
ted the teen at his Logan home Wednesday night without incident.
The suspect was charged with numerous counts of attempted rape, indecent assault, kidnapping and other related charges.
But to

the
residents in the area, the boy's age was almost as shocking as the crimes.
"Are you serious?" said one
resident. "So he is a kid?"
The minor allegedly struck between Feb. 21 and April 5, according to police investigators at the Northwest Detective's bureau.
Detectives said they broke the case when they started to target the same suspect for an armed robbery last month.
Police said they exchanged information and discovered the suspect used the same approach to rob as he did to sexually assault victims.
