WASHINGTON (7News) — The man accused of killing two DC women and injuring another is now in custody, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
Keanan Turner, 32, of Forestville, Maryland, faces two counts of first-degree murder while armed, as well as an assault with intent to kill while armed charge. Authorities said the deadly shootings were premeditated.
The incident happened Monday night in the 2300 block of Good Hope Court SE.
DC Fire and EMS responded to the home after a report of a fire, but law enforcement was called after crews discovered shooting victims. Officers found one woman with a gunshot wound in the parking lot. Emergency personnel took her to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities then found two other women at the scene; one was pronounced dead at the home, while the other passed away at the hospital. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner identified the victims as Wanda Wright, 48, and Ebony Wright, 32, both of Southeast, DC.
Officers also found a 3-month-old child inside the home, the department said.
Authorities arrested Turner in Stafford, Virginia Friday.
