SHOCKING: Jewish Woman Stabbed to Death in Queens on First Night of Pesach

A 'Jewish' woman from the Forest Hills section of Queens was brutally stabbed to death at her home and her body dumped near the Jackie Robinson Parkway on the first night of Pesach.

The lifeless body of Orsolya Gaal, a 51-year-old member of the Bukharian Jewish community in Queens, was found in a duffel bag dumped a few blocks from her home, with evidence of a brutal attack having taken place.
Police said Orsolya suffered multiple stab wounds and died from “sharp force injuries” to her neck.

“The multiplicity of these wounds is such that it connotes personal anger to an extreme degree,” forensic pathologist Dr. Cyril Wecht told Fox News. “When somebody kills somebody like this and inflicts 60 wounds, blunt force, sharp force injuries, they are really, really [angry].”

Shockingly, whoever it was that killed her then took her phone and texted her husband – who was out of town – that his “entire family is next.”

Police believe she had been at home with someone that she knew – someone who may have ended up murdering her.

They are now questioning that individual. The murder is not being investigated as a hate crime.

Ex-handyman lover, who knew of spare key, sought by cops in NYC mom Orsolya Gaal’s slaying: sources
Cops want to question a former handyman lover of slain Queens mom Orsolya Gaal who had intimate knowledge of her home — including where the family kept a spare key, The Post has learned.

The man, who has not yet been formally identified as a person of interest or suspect in the gruesome slaying, is believed to have had a romantic relationship with the 51-year-old married mother of two before the affair went south, law-enforcement sources sai

It’s unclear when the relationship began and ended, but according to sources familiar with the case, the man knew where the family kept a spare key at their well-kept Forest Hills tudor and would have been able to access the home without breaking in.
Gaal was stabbed nearly 60 times sometime in the wee hours Saturday inside the front of the home, with her corpse then taken to the basement, sources and authorities have said. She was stashed in a black Bauer hockey bag similar to one belonging to her kids, and the pouch containing her body was then dragged outside and dumped about a half-mile away, leaving behind a trail of blood, cops said.
Police believe the killer knew Gaal because there were no signs of a break-in, and considering the violent nature of the crime, they suspect the attack was personal and fueled by anger specifically toward her, sources said.
But the grisly slay did not appear to be pre-meditated, sources said.

“[Detectives] don’t think it was a planned murder,” a law-enforcement source said.

“He left a blood trail for five blocks from the house,” the source said.

“It was like a trail of bread crumbs.

Murdered NYC mom Orsolya Gaal: NYPD arrests 44-year-old David Bonola in gruesome Queens slaying
NEW YORK – An arrest has been made in the gruesome murder of New York City mom Orsolya Gaal, whose body was reportedly found stabbed nearly 60 times and stuffed inside a duffel bag, Fox News has confirmed.

Cops arrested 44-year-old David Bonola just before 1 a.m. Thursday and charged him with murder, criminal tampering and criminal possession of a weapon, the NYPD said. Bonola was not a stranger to the victim and has no unsealed criminal history in New York City, police said.

Authorities said Bonola lives on 114th Street near Liberty Avenue in Queens, about 2.7 miles from the victim's home on leafy Juno Street.
Examining the distances between both houses shows Bonola could have passed through the Jackie Robinson Parkway and the Metropolitan Avenue area – where Gaal's remains were discovered – had he chosen to walk home that night.
Photos from outside Bonola's home show the residence surrounded by police crime scene tape, with one marked police vehicle and multiple officers out front.
Gaal, a 51-year-old married mother of two, was found murdered on Saturday morning less than a mile from her Forest Hill home.

The handyman accused of killing Queens mom Orsolya Gaal was living here illegally, The Post has learned.
David Bonola, a 44-year-old Mexican national, entered the US from Mexico about 21 years ago, according to the NYPD – and law-enforcement sources revealed Friday that he was living in New York in violation of immigration law when busted Wednesday for Gaal’s horrific slaying.
“One more person that ought not to be here in the first place committing a crime,” City Councilman Joe Borelli (R-SI) seethed to The Post.
The NYPD, asked about Bonola’s immigration status Friday, declined comment, saying it had no information.
It wasn’t immediately clear if Bonola had originally entered the country legally or ever had any type of lawful status in the US.

But Immigration and Customs Enforcement confirmed to The Post that it has lodged a detainer with Queens Central Booking, where Bonola currently is.
“ICE focuses its civil immigration enforcement priorities on the apprehension and removal of noncitizens who pose a threat to our national security, public safety, and border security,” an ICE spokesperson said in an email.
An ICE detainer is a written request to a local jail or law-enforcement agency to hold a defendant for an additional 48 hours, should the person get a release date, so it can decide whether to take the person into federal custody for deportation purposes, according to the ACLU.
Former Westchester County Executive and GOP gubernatorial candidate Rob Astorino said, “we’ve lost control of our borders.”

This is what happens when our government waves people in and doesn’t expel them when they’re not supposed to be here,” Astorino said.

Authorities say the curly haired suspect confessed to killing Gaal, a married mother of two, and was charged with murder, criminal tampering and criminal possession of a weapon.
Cops say he used to work as Gaal’s handyman and had a romantic relationship with her for about two years. He is accused of showing up at her stately Forest Hills home early Saturday morning and stabbing her nearly 60 times after they got into a fight about their relationship.
He was ordered held without bail late Thursday at Queens Criminal Court.

Possible relatives of Queens slay suspect seen grabbing luggage, belongings from his home Friday

Possible relatives of Queens slay suspect David Bonola carted luggage and belongings out of his Richmond Hill home Friday morning, video shows.
Four people, including a woman and two men, were seen bringing out three suitcases, two backpacks, a floral arrangement and a plastic bag stuffed with belongings out of Bonola’s Queens home around 9:30 a.m.
When the group was asked if they were related to Bonola — who was arrested Wednesday for allegedly butchering Forest Hills mom Orsolya Gaal and then stuffing her corpse in a duffel bag — one of the men grunted, “No” and declined further comment.
The group then loaded the belongings into a waiting taxi and took off.

Moments later, a woman who also lives at the location but in a different unit said she wasn’t sure who the people were and didn’t “want to say anything” when asked about Bonola.
The 44-year-old suspect — who allegedly worked as a handyman for Gaal and had a romantic relationship with her for about two years — showed up at her home in the wee hours Saturday morning to discuss their on-off fling after they broke up earlier this month, according to cops and sources.
Bonola then flew into a rage and refused to leave the home when the two got into an argument, eventually stabbing the married mother of two nearly 60 times while her 13-year-old son was upstairs, cops and sources said.
The ponytailed suspect readily confessed to the crime after he was taken into custody Wednesday, sources said. He was held without bail during his arraignment late Thursday at Queens criminal court.
He’s facing murder, criminal tampering and criminal possession of a weapon charges. If convicted, he faces up to 25 years in prison.

More On: orsolya gaal

The handyman accused of fatally stabbing Queens mom Orsolya Gaal and stuffing her in a duffel bag claimed he killed her because he believed she’d given him HIV during their torrid two-year affair, according to court records unsealed in court Tuesday.
David Bonola, 44, who was arraigned on a murder indictment in the vicious April 16 slaying, also told detectives that Gaal — a married mom of two — “was cheating on me,” the Queens Supreme Court filing states.
“She gave me HIV,” Bonola allegedly told detectives at the 112th Precinct on April 20. “She lied to me, she used me. She told me that she loved me. She couldn’t be with one person.”
Bonola also claimed Gaal “took a phone call from another guy” and “said she was going to see him,” without specifying when, according to the court docs.

“That made me angry. I couldn’t accept it,” he allegedly said.

The married father of two from Richmond Hill, who entered the US illegally from Mexico 21 years ago, is charged with following Gaal home early on April 16 and getting into a violent argument — before stabbing her.

Police said Gaal, a 51-year-old mother of two boys, went to a show at Lincoln Center with friends on April 15, then stopped at a local bar alone and ordered “her usual Moscow mule,” a bartender there told The Post.

She got home around 12:30 a.m., followed by her killer.

“I knocked on her door,” Bonola, a heating and air conditioning repairman who had done work for Gaal’s family, allegedly told cops after being taken into custody.

“She opened the door and asked me what I was doing there,” he recalled. “I told her that I just wanted her to tell me the truth about why she gave me HIV. She said she didn’t have HIV.”

He said Gaal told him their affair was over, and “grabbed the knife and told him to leave her house or she would kill him.

“I grabbed the knife and cut her from the neck,” Bonola allegedly told police. “She kept fighting and we fall. She was moving and trying to grab me so I stabbed her in the neck to get her to stop attacking me.”

He allegedly said he cleaned up the house with towels and put her in her son’s hockey duffel bag, which was dumped less than a mile from the home.

“In the past, she told me that she had sent a man to jail so I sent a message to her husband pretending to be that guy because I was scared,” Bonola allegedly said. “I took her laptop because she had sex videos on the laptop. I threw her laptop in the Hudson River where I used to visit her.”

He was arrested on April 21 and charged with murder in the case and gave police a “matter-of-fact” confession to the slaying, the sources said.

In court last week, prosecutors said Gaal let Bonola into the Tudor-style home before the two got into a quarrel and Bonola allegedly killed her.

Bonola is being held in protective custody without bail. His lawyer didn’t return a message.

“This heinous murder left two teenagers without a mother and terrified an entire community,” Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said in a statement.

“As alleged, this defendant brutally stabbed the victim over 50 times before stuffing her body into a duffel bag — which he then dragged for several blocks in an attempt to dispose of the victim’s remains,” Katz said.

“The defendant has now been indicted and arraigned on very serious charges and faces a lengthy prison sentence if convicted,” she said.
