Second suspect charged in rape

COLLINGDALE -- A second suspect has been charged with the rape of a 16-year-old girl last Friday. Baseem Brown, 20, of the 100 block of Pine Street, Collingdale, was picked up by police on Tuesday. A 17-year-old male, a senior at Academy Park High School, was taken into custody Monday in connection with the sexual assault. His name was not released because of his age.
The alleged attack took place Friday night in Brown's home on Pine Street, according to the affidavit of probable cause.
The alleged victim told investigators that she and her girlfriend were walking along MacDade Boulevard earlier in the

evening when they bumped into Brown and t
he 17-year-old high school senior. The suspects were acquaintances of one of the girls.
The four teens went back to a house on Pine Street, police said. The rape victim's girlfriend told police that Brown put his hand up her dress while they were in the basement. She eventually left the house.
Brown and the juvenile allegedly held the girl against her will in the basement of Brown's home. The alleged victim told investigators that she tried to leave several times, but the suspects pulled her back.
According to the affidavit, both suspects held her down and sexually assaulted her at the same time.
The alleged victim was able to flee when another person entered the house during the attack, the affidavit states.
The 16-year-old girl was able to identify both suspects from an array of photos. The other girl also identified Brown as the man who put his hands up her dress.
A juvenile petition was filed against the 17-year-old ma
le.
He is being held in Lima Detention Center.
Brown was
arraigned on charges of rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, two counts of sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, unlawful restraint, simple assault, conspiracy and corruption of minors. He is being held in Delaware County prison in lieu of 10 percent of $100,000 bail.
