A Muslim cop who has been held up as a model example of NYPD diversity was arrested for allegedly forcibly touching two people — including the wife of a police sergeant — during one of the department’s “smoker” boxing events, law-enforcement sources told The Post on Friday.

Officer Tauseef Malik, 27, of Brooklyn’s 72nd Precinct was charged with two counts of forcible touching, two counts of sexual abuse and two counts of harassment for the Thursday night incident and suspended, the NYPD said.

A source called Malik a “butt grabber.” :p

Malik and co-workers were at the boxing event in Coney Island because they were mandated to be there by the precinct’s commanding officer, according to sources.

One of the people who Malik allegedly inappropriately touched is a police colleague and the wife of a sergeant, prompting higher-ups to force him to undergo the humiliation of a line-up :D, sources said.

“She picked him out,” a source said, adding, “The NYPD is trying to keep [it] quiet so not to tarnish the smoker and that Malik is one of the poster boys for Islamic cops in the 72nd Precinct.”

It was not immediately known whether the second victim Malik allegedly touched is a cop.

Malik frequently poses with the commanding officer when it comes to Muslim community-relations events and during the Muslim holiday of Ramadan, sources said.

The cop raked in a total pay of $62,388 in 2017, according to data posted by SeeThroughNY.

An officer accused of grabbing the backside of a police sergeant’s wife has been cleared of charges because authorities had the wrong guy, police sources told The Post.

Tauseef Malik, a Muslim cop who had been touted as an example of diversity on the force, was arrested last August for allegedly touching two women during one of the department’s “smoker” boxing events.

The 27-year-old officer from Brooklyn’s 72nd Precinct was charged with two counts of forcible touching, two counts of sexual abuse and two counts of harassment.

The sergeant’s wife had picked Malik out of a lineup, but sources said the officer never grabbed the women.

A spokesman for the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office said the case against Malik had been sealed and likely dismissed.

Malik was still suspended Wednesday when The Post asked the NYPD of his work status.

But NYPD sources said they had just learned about the development and expected Malik to return to duty “soon.”
