The alleged gunman wanted for shooting two innocent bystanders — one of them a teen girl — inside a Staten Island hair salon two years ago has been arrested, police said Tuesday.
Eqwone Forbes — who was already behind bars in a separate case — was charged Monday with attempted murder and other raps for the gang-related Aug. 25, 2021, shooting at the Bousso African Hair Braiding salon in Brighton Heights, cops said.
Forbes, 24, was allegedly aiming for another man when he opened fire from the street into the salon around 3:50 p.m., authorities said.

Instead of striking his rival, his bullets grazed a 17-year-old girl in the head and a 35-year-old woman in the buttocks, cops said.

Both were treated at Richmond University Medical Center.

Forbes, of the Park Hill neighborhood, was arrested about two hours after the shooting on a separate offense and slapped with a criminal possession of a weapon charge.

He has been locked up at the Queensboro Correctional Facility since May 2022 after being convicted in that case, and his sentence is set to expire on Sunday at the earliest, or by the end of August, at the latest.

Investigators linked him to the hair salon shooting during his time behind bars, police said.

In addition to the attempted murder rap, he was also charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm, police said.
