Robbers point guns at elderly man, steal backpack in Queens






Two robbers pointed guns at a 68-year-old man and snatched his backpack outside his Kew Gardens Hills home last week, according to surveillance video released Tuesday.
The victim walked up the steps to his home at 69th Avenue and Main Street in Queens and was opening the door around 6:45 p.m. Wednesday when the duo approached him, cops said.
One of the men flashed a gun and tried to grab the black bag from the resident before the second suspect approached – also pointing a gun at him, the footage shows.
The victim tries to back away from the suspects to keep them from taking his bag, but they were able to snatch it and ran, the clip shows.
The victim did not report any injuries, and the backpack was empty, cops said.

Cops believe the same suspects are linked to a mugging that happened around 8 p.m. the same day at a Queens subway station.


The 63-year-old victim was exiting the 75th Avenue station in Forest Hills when the duo approached him and pulled out a gun, cops said.


The creeps struck him in the head with the weapon multiple times before grabbing his watch, jewelry and about $1,000 before fleeing on foot into the station, police said.

The duo pulled a gun on the victim and took his backpack.
The victim was taken to Queens Hospital Center in stable condition with cuts on his head.


Cops released surveillance footage of one of the subway muggers last week.


One of the suspects is described as about 5-foot-10 and 170 pounds with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, black and blue multi-colored shirt and blue jeans with black and red sneakers.

The victim did not report any injuries, and his backpack was empty.
Police say the second suspect is about 6-foot-2 with an athletic build, weighing around 190 pounds.
