Miami-Dade police have charged a man with culpable negligence for leaving a gun where a 5-year-old Homestead boy could get to it.
Little Ronald Moss shot and killed his 3-year-old sister Literica ''Shae Shae'' Davis on Thursday after finding the gun in a closet where the children kept their toys.
Terry Armstead, 22, was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Armstead is the boy
riend of the children's mother.
Armstead initially ran from the scene of the shooting but Homestead police captured him nearby. He told Miami-Dade police that he knew the gun was loaded when he p
ut it in the closet in a place where the children in the house could
get to it, according to his arrest affidavit.
The children's mother, Tracy Lane, said she had no idea there was a gun in the house and Armstead told police he hadn't told anyone about it.
Court records show that he is awaiting trial on charges of carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a gun by a felon from an arrest in April.
