Manhunt Continues for Suspect In Fatal Stabbing

'BEVERLY HILLS - Authorities searched for a man who fatally stabbed a painter and wounded another in the parking lot of a Beverly Hills bank in the city's first killing since 2001.

The attack occurred about 6:50 Wednesday morning at the Wells Fargo Bank in the 9300 block of Wilshire Boulevard, between Elm and Crescent drives, said Beverly Hills police Lt. Mike Hines. The motive was unclear.

Beverly Hills police Lt. Mitch McCann told reporters yesterday that the attack appeared to have been random, saying the painters "were unfortunately in the wrong place at the wrong time." (TNB is always random, isn't it piggy? You f**king dolt! We hire the worst cretins in the world to

The assailant was described as black (I can't f**king believe it! He's black?!?! But those people are always so nice and friendly!), between the ages of 30 and 40, 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds, McCann said.

"The suspect vehicle was an older-model, American full-sized vehicle, dark in color with a vinyl roof, and, according to witnesses, may have had some items on the rear deck behind the window there, either trash or other items," McCann said.

The dead man was Jurgen Hapke, 65, of Burbank, according to Craig Harvey of the Los Angeles Department of Coroner.

The assailant walked up to Helmut Mende, 71, of North Hollywood, without provocation and began stabbing him multiple times, McCann said. (Two Aryans? This ape better get charged with a hate crime)

Ha
pke and Mende had been partners in a painting business for 40 years, McCann said.

Hapke attempted to come to Mende's aid and was stabbed
in the upper body, McCann said.

"(The suspect) never said a word, never said one word," Mende told a local TV station "And then my partner made a few steps toward his car and then collapsed."

Hapke was pronounced dead at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, authorities said. Hapke's attempts to stop the attack probably saved his partner's life, McCann said.

The weapon -- a kitchen knife -- was left behind at the scene, McCann said.

The killer got back in his car after the attack and drove east on Wilshire Boulevard, McCann said. "
