Suspect arrested in rape of girl, 5
A Prichard teenager was arrested over the weekend and charged with raping a 5-year-old girl at a home both were visiting, according to a Prichard spokesman.
Jabaris Cartez English, 17, surrendered at the Prichard Police Department shortly after the 9:21 p.m. incident on Saturday night, spokesman Harry McGadney wrote in a news release.
Both were visiting a home in the Gulf Village subdivision of Prichard when the incident occurred, the release states.
English was being held at Mobile County Metro Ja
l on Monday on a first-degree rape charge, the release states. The girl was taken to a local hospital for treatment and later released. An investigation is ongoing.
