LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Two people have been arrested in Louisiana in connection with the discovery of a body inside a water meter vault in Las Vegas last month, according to police.

The body of 71-year-old Young Suk Sanchez, of Las Vegas, was found by a worker Sept. 22 inside a duffel bag that was found in a vault that houses water meters near the intersection of Boulder Highway and Nellis Boulevard.

According to Las Vegas Metro police, 23-year-old Veronica Houck and her boyfriend, 33-year-old Jamar Webb, were arrested by authorities in Minden, LA, on Oct. 8, in connection with Sanchez’s death.

Police said Houck is believed to have been acquainted with Sanchez.

Houck was charged with murder, robbery, kidnapping, conspiracy to commit murder, conspiracy to commit robbery and conspiracy to commit kidnapping.

Webb was charged with burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, possession of a credit card without the owner’s consent and two counts of fraudulent use of a credit card.

The couple is awaiting extradition to Las Vegas.

Detectives have said they believe Sanchez’s body was placed in the vault within a month of when it was found.
