A woman is being held for robbing a Gwinnett County bank after being caught all-but red-handed, police said.

According to Gwinnett detectives, a trail of dye led them to arrest Dominique Williams at her home in the 3200 block of East Winscape Village Lane in Norcross. Police were able to connect red dye found in Williams' purse and her car with an exploded
ed dye pack attached to the stolen money.

Police responded to the theft last Thursday, about 4:15 p.m., at an Iron Stone Bank on Indian Trail Road in Norcross. Witnesses said the woman entered the ban

k
nd presented a note to the teller, demanding $3,000 or the teller would be shot.

The tel
ler put $3,000 and the dye pack into a bag and handed it to the suspect, police said. The suspect left the bank and got into a 2004 Chevrolet Aveo with a drive out tag.

Police said the dye pack exploded, staining the bag with red dye. The suspect then threw the money and the bag into the parking lot and fled.

On Friday, police discovered that the Aveo in question had been purchased by Williams just days before the bank robbery. Investigators located the vehicle at Williams' home and noticed red dye on the car's interior, police said.

Officers served a search warrant at Wiliams' home and also found a demand note stained by red dye inside of Williams' purse. She was arrested and
is charged with armed robbery.

Williams is being held at the Gwinnett County jail.
