An irate passenger stabbed an MTA bus driver on his Brooklyn route Monday in at least the fifth attack on a city transit worker this month.
The 42-year-old MTA employee was knifed once in the left hand after he got into an argument with an unidentified man near Bay 27th Street and Cropsey Avenue in Bath Beach, according to police.
The suspect fled from the B82 bus, going north on 24th Avenue around 2 p.m., cops said.
The bus driver was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals – Coney Island in stable condition.
The NYPD released an image of the suspect, who the department said was about 30 years old.
He was last seen wearing a red polo shirt with the number 5 on the right side, light blue jeans and red and white sneakers. He also had a black fanny pack.
Monday’s violence came after three MTA bus drivers were assaulted in separate attacks in less than a week earlier this month, officials said.

A male bus driver was attacked on his way to a bus depot on May 12 when a stranger slugged him in the face at the Village-Metropolitan Avenue station in Queens, authorities said.

The next day, a 39-year-old bus operator in Manhattan was whacked in the head with a plastic bottle by a passenger, sending the MTA worker to the hospital with minor injuries, cops said.

And then on May 17, a female bus driver was hit in the head by a book bag by a female rider before the suspect fled in Brooklyn’s Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood, according to authorities.

Before those trio of attacks, a 45-year-old MTA bus driver was repeatedly punched in the face by another man as he drove an M14 bus on May 6.
