Xingjuan Zhou describes attack

A disturbed man randomly slugged a deaf female straphanger in Union Square on Sunday — just days after punching another woman, telling her, “You’re gonna die today,” law-enforcement sources told The Post.
The suspect, Vladimir Pierre — a 41-year-old alleged gang member with 27 prior arrests — was free to strike again after the first incident thanks to bail-reform laws, sources said.
On Sunday, Pierre allegedly punched the 59-year-old female rider and sent her reeling onto the tracks shortly after 10:30 a.m. at the Nos. 4/5/6 station in Manhattan, sources said. Good Samaritans came to the deaf woman’s aid and pulled her off the tracks to safety.
Pierre fled but was arrested by police nearby, sources said.
His bust came just days after he was freed without bail Sept. 1 for allegedly randomly punching another woman, Crystal Porter, in Brooklyn, according to sources. Porter, a 30-year-old mom of two, was waiting for the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens shuttle when she was attacked.
“He don’t want to fight men,” Porter told The Post of Pierre on Sunday. “He just wants to fight women.
“I don’t even know him,’’ she said. “He was coming down the stairs. He was yelling, but I don’t even think he was talking to me. He came down the stairs, and he just punched me.”

Porter said that as cops arrived at the scene, Pierre told her, “You’re going to die today.”
Law-enforcement sources said Pierre was charged with assault in the attack on Porter — but could not be held on bail because of state reforms. Before the laws changed, a judge could have previously considered ordering Porter held on bail.
Pierre, a reputed member of Brooklyn’s Newkirk Crew street gang, also has two pending other cases against him — including one for an alleged choking incident involving a female straphanger in April.
Pierre is accused of randomly approaching that woman on a Q train in Brooklyn, yelling, “I’m gonna kill you!” — and then grabbing her by the neck and choking her, records reviewed by The Post show. He also allegedly punched the woman in the face and bit her head.
The second pending case involves using “slugs” in a coin machine last year, sources said.

Pierre has been the subject of 10 previous reports for an emotionally disturbed person, too, according to sources.
The victim of Sunday’s assault, Xingjuan Zhou, reenacted the attack on her for The Post on Sunday, pointing to where she hurt her head and how she was pushed. Zhou indicated she is deaf, and police sources confirmed it.
She was taken to Beth Israel Hospital with facial injuries, sources said.
Pierre was charged with assault in the case.

A disturbed man who randomly slugged a deaf female straphanger just days after punching another is finally off the streets, after a judge on Monday ordered him to undergo a psychiatric exam.
Vladimir Pierre, 41, faces charges of second degree attempted assaulted, third degree assault and second degree reckless endangerment for the alleged attack, which according to prosecutors sent its victim reeling onto the tracks at Union Square-14th Street station at around 9:49 a.m. on Sunday.
Judge Melissa Jackson ordered Pierre to be held indefinitely pending the results of a psychiatric exam, after the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office requested he be held on $25,000 cash bail or a $75,000 bond.
“There is a question of fitness to proceed. There is some question of his mental capacity,” Jackson said in court on Sunday.

Vladimir Pierre is a known member of Brooklyn’s Newkirk Crew street gang.

Pierre, a reputed member of Brooklyn’s Newkirk Crew street gang, appeared in court in the same orange camouflage pants and gray winter coat he was arrested in on Sunday. He moaned and spoke unintelligibly throughout the arraignments, and was unable to stand still while his legal aid attorney testified on his behalf.
The alleged attacker’s rap sheet extends beyond the two recent assaults — and includes “another similar assault” on a subway rider from last December, prosecutors said. According to police sources, he has one other pending case against him.
“This is not an isolated incident. He punched another subway rider and tried to cut off her air supply by putting the victim in a headlock,” Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Kayla Sullivan said in court on Monday. “There is also another similar assault for which he failed to appear. The first on December 2020, again failing to appear on February 2021, then again March 2021. He returned when he was rearrested.”
Pierre’s next court date is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 10.

A "disturbed" man, whom will now receive a "psyc" exam? Anybody else notice a pattern here? We used to have wanted posters, now we have "mug-shots". Looking at this feral beast, we know why.
