Man killed in Flint shooting

Flint --(05/10/05)--Flint police are on the scene of a deadly shooting that has left one man dead. The shooting happened around 1:30 p.m. at Holbrook and College Street.

Police say the shooting stems from a domestic dispute. They say the victim assaulted his girlfriend Tuesday morning and returned Tuesday afternoon to assault some members of her family.

Moments later gunshots were heard.

The crime scene spans two city blocks, but neighbors say the shots fired could be heard almost a half mile away. Police say the shooting is likely the result of a domestic dispute.

The victim, who appears to be in his early 20s, assaulted his ex-girlfriend at her home around 3 a.m. He returned later with a gun. His ex wasn't there, but her two sisters and two child

ren were.

Police say he threatened to kill them all, but eventually left th
e house, and that's when multiple shots were heard. Some neighbors recall hearing between six and 13 shots fired.

Authorities say an AK-47 assault rifle was used in the shooting. The victim had a weapon on him, but it's unclear at this time if he used it.

Police say the victim was traveling in the backseat of a green SUV before the shooting. They have interviewed several witnesses, but at this time have no suspects.
