BRIDGETON -- A Bank Street resident reported to police Saturday morning that he was robbed by a man he had agreed to drive from Cohansey Street to Walnut Street.

The suspect was described in a police investigation report as a Hispanic male with a medium build, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, with short, balding hair, and tattoos on his arms.

The victim was reportedly robbed of $100, his portable CD player and a CD when the suspect told him to stop the car on Union Street.

The victim told police that shortly after he picked up the suspect on Cohansey Street around 8 a.m., the suspect asked him to turn around and head ba
k to Cohansey Street because he had forgotten something, according to the police report.

When the victim turned his car onto Union Street, the suspect demanded his money, yet did not use physical fo

rce or brandish a weapon of any kind
, according to the victim.

The victim immediately gave the suspect his money because he was scared due to the fact that he believes the man who robbed him is affiliated with a gang, according to the report.

The victim told police he only agreed to give the suspect a ride because he feared retribution if he did not.
