Local basketball stars wanted for theft on Indiana campus

EVANSVILLE -- Two former high school basketball standouts from our area have until Monday to turn themselves into police in Indiana.

Robert Nelson and Marcus Butler are wanted in connection to a number of burglaries on the University of Evansville campus.

Nelson was named Lorain County's Mister Basketball and Second-Team all state following his senior season at Elyria High in 2003.

Butler is on scholarship after starring for Saint Peter's high school in Mansfield.

Nelson, Butler and another player are accused of stealing close to $6,000 worth of electronic equipment from dorm rooms over Thanksgiving break.

All three players have been dismissed from the University

of Evansville basketball team. If they do not
turn themselves in, they will face extradition.

All of the items were returned to the victims.
