Fliers spread anti-MLK messageK
KKK literature attached to local newspapers.
By Nicole Leenlee@news-sentinel.com
Inflammatory Ku Klux Klan literature has been attached to and distributed with several area publications, including The News-Sentinel and The Journal Gazette, without the publications' consent.
For example, on Monday, the day the nation commemorated the work of civil rights icon Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a woman called The News-Sentinel to say she had found at least three copies of a flier titled Abolish the King Holiday in a southeast Fort Wayne neighborhood. A second article on the flier, titled Rosa Parks: Hero or Traitor, suggests that the arrest of Rosa Parks during the civil rights struggle was a communist pu
blicity stunt.
