The 5-year-old boy who tragically plunged five stories to his death from a Brooklyn balcony was mourned at an outdoor funeral service Thursday afternoon as hundreds of black-clad tearful grievers surrounded the boy’s tiny casket.

Mourners joined the devastated family of Shimon Meisels, whose body was placed in a casket draped with a black cloth adorned with white Hebrew lettering and placed on a wooden table in front of a Williamsburg synagogue run by the child’s grandfather.

“You will meet your mother in heaven ,” said the boy’s distraught father Yoel Yakov Meisels at the packed Hasidic Jewish service one day
after the little boy’s death.

“Be sure to pray for the family and the rest of the children and their well-being in the future. These tragedies should never happen again,”
said Meisels, speaking in Yiddish, through tears.

“He was a pure soul. He was always busy learning or reading over Psalms,” the father, whose wife died two years ago, added.

The toddler’s grandfather, Herschel Meisels, the lead rabbi of the synagogue said, “God should give strength to the family to take away
the pain.”

Shimon was killed when he tumbled to the street from the balcony of his fifth-floor apartment on Wallabout Street in Williamsburg Wednesday at around 8 p.m., police said.

An ambulance rushed the boy to Brooklyn Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Members of Shimon’s family were home at the time of the fatal fall, cops said.

“A child goes straight to heaven. It’s just everybody here who is left in hell,” said neighbor Raizy Lichtenstein. “He was a regular five-year-old like any other. My kids played with him all the time. They didn’t sleep last night. They were crying, hysterical,” Lichtenstein added.

Neighbors said that the Meisels family moved into the apartment building just a few months ago and that little Shimon was the youngest
of six children.

“He was an adorable, loveable little child. He didn’t do anything any five-year-old wouldn’t do,” said Lichtenstein.

A toddler plunged to his death from a 13th-story window at a Harlem housing project on Sunday night after he somehow managed to push out the window guard, law enforcement sources said.

Latyr Sene, 3, was rushed to the hospital in cardiac arrest after falling from a window in the Harlem River Houses at around 7:20 p.m, but was pronounced dead on arrival, according to police at 7:36 p.m., sources said.
His parents, both of whom are African immigrants, were spotted being taken away by an EMS supervisor moments after the ambulance left.

Sources said the bars that were supposed to be secured in place outside the window were loose, allowing for the child to easily push them to the ground below.

“We heard a big bang,” said Annette Aiken, a 47-year-old resident who lives on the ninth floor and saw the boy moments after he fell.

“We were in the kitchen of our apartment. We saw people pointing, saw firemen, looked out the window and saw the baby not moving, all twisted up,” she recalled. “Then we yelled, ‘Oh my God! Oh My God! The lady’s baby fell out the window! There’s a baby on the ground! There’s a baby on the ground!’ He ain’t had no shirt on, just his drawers. Poor child.”

A resident on the seventh floor described how Latyr struck her air conditioner on the way down.

“[It sounded] like a big boom!” she said, refusing to be named.

Aiken told The Post that the boy has an identical twin brother  and his parents “are very nice people.”

“[They’re] always with the twins,” she said, adding that the mother “always had her babies with her.”

A ninth-floor resident named Renee remembered how the toddler’s mom came running outside with the surviving toddler after learning of what happened.

“The mother had the other twin in her arm,” she said. “My knees buckled. I couldn’t bear to look out the window. I ran downstairs [and] the fire department was trying to revive him and I just totally lost it.”

Yeah, five stories doesn't seem to cut it. Those things bounce, get up and walk away.

PROVIDENCE — Twin toddler boys are recovering at Hasbro Children's Hospital while their mother remains under investigation for allegedly tossing them out a first-floor window Sunday afternoon.

About an hour after someone called the state Department of Children, Youth and Families to report Benita Barbour, 37, for possible abuse, a neighbor called police after seeing Barbour throw the 2-year-old boys out the window and onto the porch, said Detective Anthony Roberson.

Barbour and her boyfriend, Michael Watts, 37, were fighting at their apartment at 129 Alverson Ave., in the Hartford neighborhood, when neighbors saw Barbour toss her sons out the window, according to a police report. Watts tried to shove the boys back in the front door, but Barbour slammed it closed, knocking down one of the children, according to police.

PITTSBURGH —A 3-year-old boy is at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh after falling from a second-floor balcony at a home in the city's Homewood West neighborhood.

The incident happened Monday afternoon on the 6900 block of Monticello Street, directly across the street from Westinghouse Academy 6-12.

Police said Raevin Hodges, 18, was tasked with watching the boy at the time of the incident.

A Pittsburgh school officer said, at one point, they observed Hodges apparently texting on her phone when the boy's head was between two porch railings. ;)Hodges denied she was on her phone at the time the boy fell.

A criminal complaint did say Hodges was aware of the spacing of the balusters on the porch, which included some wide openings.

"It looks like it's ready to fall off the house," said Aliya Williams, who lives nearby. "It doesn't look safe for anybody to be up there."

Upper Darby Police Department
Legbo Wanhi and Lea Wanhi are accused of leaving their 3-year-old son home alone in Upper Darby. Police say the boy fell out a window.

A child left home alone as his father claimed to be searching for a job fell from a second-story window in Delaware County.

Upper Darby police arrested the 3-year-old’s parents for leaving the boy home alone inside the family apartment along Hampden Road Monday, according to an affidavit of probable cause obtained by NBC10.

Officers and paramedics arrived to the home around 5:30 p.m. Monday to find the 3-year-old boy with a head injury, police said. It appeared he had fallen from a second-floor window. Medics rushed the boy to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia where he was listed in guarded condition.

No one could locate the boy’s parents. Officers forced their way into the home to find a window missing its pane of glass and no one else inside.

As police waited to execute a search warrant for the apartment, the boy’s mother, Lea Rosine Dezai Epse Wanhi, showed up around 7:45 p.m. Police then called the boy’s father, Legbo Thierry Wanhi, who said he was near Love Park in Center City Philadelphia at the time. He arrived to the police station around 9 p.m.

Through a translator , Thierry Wanhi told investigators he knowingly left his son home alone, police said. He said he left the apartment between 4:45 to 5 p.m. in search of work. He knew the boy’s mother wouldn’t be home until at least 6 p.m.

Both parents were charged with child endangerment and are expected to be arraigned Tuesday, police said. It was unclear if they have attorneys who could comment for them.

A 7-year-old boy fell out of a fourth floor window Saturday evening and amazingly suffered only minor injuries, police said.

Police responded to a call for a boy lying on the sidewalk outside 2950 Bainbridge Ave, in Norwood, shortly after 6 p.m.

EMS rushed the youngster, who was described as “conscious and alert,” to Jacobi Hospital.

The child, who is from out-of-state, and his mother, were there visiting relatives, which is why there were no window guards (monkey bars) in the apartment.

The name of the boy was not immediately released.

A deranged man shoved his 4-year-old brother to his death from their Brooklyn apartment early Saturday — and confessed to the evil deed immediately afterwards, police sources told The Post.

The boy, Shimron Smith, was found dead in the courtyard of the six-story building on Nostrand Avenue near Avenue K in Midwood around 3:30 a.m., cops said.

EMS workers pronounced the boy dead at the scene.

After he allegedly shoved the child, the 20-year-old man walked up to a police car and told cops what he did, police sources said.

He was taken into custody and awaiting charges Saturday morning, according to police.

A building maintenance man who said he knew the family described the older brother as “kinda crazy.”

“He doesn’t speak to nobody, he just walks up behind you,” said the worker, who declined to give his name. “Walks up and down, smoking. He doesn’t talk much.”

A cousin who declined to give her name described him as “loco” and “crazy in the head.”

“[Shimron was] a a sweet little boy,” the cousin added. “He’s my baby.”

It wasn’t clear whether the boy was pushed from the roof or through a window, the sources said.

The motive for the shoving was not immediately known.

“It’s a tragedy,” said first-floor resident Della Smith, 64. “I was just talking to my neighbors about this. If you know you have someone like this in the building, we all have to be constantly vigilant. I’ve got my seven year old grandson living with me. But it’s just so sad. It affects us all. ”

“We’re all neighbors here,” she added. “If they needed help, I’m always here. There are resources.”
