LAPS (Leprosy Affected Persons) living in Tahirpu are promised housing created by the Hope Foundation but it turns out that most of the units are occupied by squatters who are perfectly healthy. Of 1,810 units only 194 have legal occupants. Encroachment is a result of collusion and tacit support by the Welfare department.
Note that poverty-stricken white suckers from Ireland pay for this.
