Man with HIV gets 25 years for raping girls
By Scott Harper, sharper@gtowntimes.com December 21, 2005

A Georgetown man convicted of raping two very young girls after he found out he was HIV positive will spend the next 25 years in prison.
Kendrick Rice, 28, was found guilty of two counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor and two counts of exposing others to HIV after a trial last week.
According to court documents, Rice found out in November, 2000, he was infected with HIV.

On July 10, 2003, Rice was arrested for raping two girls, ages 9 and 10. Because he had the disease, both girls have had to be under the care of doctors at the Medical University of South Carolina Hospital.
Judge Paula Thomas sentenced Rice to 25 years for each of the two rapes and to 10 years for each exposing to HIV conviction.
The sentences will run concurrently.
