On April 28, Benjamin McMichael, 67, complained to his 22-year-old grandson, Czar McMichael, about the condition of his third-floor bedroom, police said, according to WTXF-TV.
Czar McMichael allegedly spun around and shot his grandfather dead after the elderly man grabbed at his arm, police said.
According to officials, two days after the deadly shooting, on April 30, two witnesses headed to the grandfather’s home to check on him since they hadn’t been able to get in touch with him.
One witness, 45-year-old Anthony Ham, entered Benjamin McMichael’s home through a window before opening the door for the second witness.
Once inside, Ham was on the third floor of the residence when he got into a verbal coonfrontation with Czar McMichael, who allegedly shot him dead and then fled, police said.
Police took the suspect into custody a short time later and he currently faces multiple charges, including murder.
