Two held over train stabbing

TWO men face armed robbery charges after an incident on a Melbourne train that left another man with stab wounds.
Police say 19-year-old Yacoqub Khayre and Mohamed Muse, 20, both of Brunswick, boarded the city-bound train just before midnight last night, produced a knife and made demands of passengers.
"The men are believed to have asked several passengers for money and mobile phones before allegedly stabbing a 25-year-old Coburg man twice in the knee," Senior Constable Leigh Wadeson said today.
They allegedly took one mobile phone before getting off the train at Southern Cross Station, where they were arrested by police.
Both men were remanded in custody to appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court on Monday.
The injured man is in the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a stable condition.
Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
