FBI seizes phone of Oath Keepers lawyer in 'seditious conspiracy' investigation: Attorney who was at the Capitol on January 6 slams the move as 'unethical'

The FBI has seized the phone of a Texas attorney who volunteered for Lawyers for Trump and served as general counsel for the radical-right Oath Keepers organization as part of 'seditious conspiracy' investigation.
Kellye SoRelle, a close associate of Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes, was at the US Capitol during the January 6 riot and addressed the crowd in a speech repeating the false claims that Joe Biden had 'stolen' the election from Donald Trump.
This week, her iPhone was seized by the feds under an August 30 search warrant which cited an investigation into seditious conspiracy, civil disorder, false statements, destruction of government property, obstruction of Congress, and unlawful entry on restricted buildings or grounds.'
The seditious conspiracy charge refers to two or more people conspiring to overthrow or destroy the US government by force. It can also refer to hindering or delaying 'the execution of any law' and seizing possession of a federal building by force.
SoRelle appeared to brush off the potential charge but called the seizure 'frustrating.'
She told the Huffington Post: 'They either think I am the mastermind, or they wanted a free dig through everything - either way it is unethical.'
'I have so much stuff in there, (it's) nuts' SoRelle added. She called the device 'kinda a repository of truth.'
SoRelle, an attorney whose practice is based in Granbury, Texas, referred to her phone as a 'kinda a repository of truth' while speaking to the Huffington Post, adding, 'I have so much stuff in there, (it's) nuts.' She further speculated: 'They either think I am the mastermind, or they wanted a free dig through everything - either way it is unethical'

The phone was taken at a two-hour meeting with two agents at a 'Kroger/Starbucks'. Investigators believe it will provide a treasure trove of evidence for investigators.
The seizure of a lawyer's smartphone is not something taken lightly by the authorities and would have necessitated special protocols within the Justice Department. It also raises hurdles for prosecutors.

After the FBI confiscated the phone of Trump's attorney Rudy Giuliani's phone in April, a 'special master' was appointed to determine which communications were to be protected by attorney-client privilege.
So far, the seizure has not led to any charges against SoRelle.
Meanwhile 17 members of the Oath Keepers have been charged with civil disorder and obstruction of an official proceeding for the siege on Congress.
Rhodes is expected to be arrested in connection with the Capitol attack.
SoRelle does not represent any of the defendants, but has openly raised money for their legal fees and served as a media contact for the group.
The attorney was highly visible at Rhodes' side in the days leading up to the Capitol assault and stood by his side while he addressed followers in Washington at a 'Freedom Rally' just hours before the building was stormed.

She also delivered her own speech the same demanding new ballots be cast from coast-to-coast and deriding the recent November elections as 'stolen' - including Joe Biden's victory over former President Donald Trump.
'No one can be deemed legitimate at this point,' SoRelle said. 'Any action taken by any elected official at this point is illegitimate, is theft... We have no duty to comply going forward.'
After Trump's re-election loss, she joined a lawsuit that sought to keep him in office, in part by likening the ex-president to a king from the Lord of the Rings' fictional kingdom of Gondor.
The lawsuit was swiftly dismissed.
The FBI has made more than 600 arrests in connection with the January 6 attack, with hundreds more cases currently under investigation.
None of the participants in the January 6 attack have been charged with 'seditious conspiracy' as yet - with most facing allegations of obstruction of an official proceeding and civil disorder.
At least one other search warrant related to the attack has referenced 'seditious conspiracy,' but those charges have yet to be brought, according to Seamus Hughes of George Washington University's Program On Extremism, which has maintained a database of the hundreds of court cases brought in connection with the Capitol attack.

Politico Journo Defends FBI Participation in Jan 6: “It’s Kind of Normal”

The narrative is shifting from “there was no FBI involvement in Jan 6” to the FBI being involved is “kind of normal.”

Wednesday on MSNBC, Politico’s Betsy Woodruff Swan defended the FBI having informants in the Proud Boys who took part in the storming of the Capitol.

“Having informants at the sites of crimes is part of the way the law enforcement works,” Swan said. “It’s kind of normal.”

Politico’s Besty Woodruff Swan (@woodruffbets) defends the FBI participating in the Jan. 6th “insurrection”: “having informants at the sites of crimes is part of the way the law enforcement works … It’s kind of normal" pic.twitter.com/FSbXLxWlEN
— Tom Elliott (@tomselliott) September 29, 2021

As I noted on Sunday, Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio was a “prolific” FBI informant and reporting from the New York Times suggests at least four members of the group (including Tarrio) have worked as informants for the FBI, with one of them “texting real-time updates to his FBI handler” during the events on Jan 6.

As the Proud Boys marched to the Capitol on Jan. 6, a member of the far-right group was texting real-time updates — to his FBI handler.

The informer gave the bureau an inside view that day, according to confidential records obtained by The New York Times. https://t.co/QkBptydk2Z

Activist Cara Castronuova joins Kristi Leigh on the War Room for an update on the January 6th political prisoners and the activism surrounding it.

This is only “normal” in the sense it’s now “normal” for the feds and their informants to run “far-right” opposition groups like the Satanic “neo-nazi terrorist” death cult “Atomwaffen Division” and “The Base” which they use as boogeymen to provide a pretext to strip Americans of their rights — which is exactly the opposite of Swan is arguing.

The Proud Boys and their “prolific” FBI informant leader Enrique Tarrio specifically was perhaps the biggest organizer behind Jan 6 (before Trump told everyone to join in) and yet he dipped out before the event under highly suspicious circumstances (he bizarrely brought two “high capacity” magazines into DC and then openly admit he intended to “sell” them upon being arrested only to get banned from the city by a judge before the event).

Wow. Proud boys leader Enrique Tarrio was a snitch? Explains his quick arrest and expulsion before the Storming of the Capitol. Keeps him safe and allows FBI to roll up the group with solid inside intelligence. https://t.co/Wj4viHnuBf
— Malcolm Nance (@MalcolmNance) January 27, 2021

The feds were looking for any excuse to crack down on the “far-right” and Trump supporters and Jan 6 gave it to them.

If the feds did manufacture the event as a pretext to strip the American people of their rights it wouldn’t be the first time and it certainly wouldn’t be the last.

Nonetheless, the feds’ “insurrection” narrative has in large part blown up in their faces as their lies about cops being mass murdered by rabid Trump supporters were all shown to be bulls**t and the only person who was actually murdered was unarmed 14-year Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt, who died at their hands. Their vicious persecution of the mostly-peaceful Jan 6 protesters has also moved half the country to recognize them as “political prisoners.”

If the leaders of Jan 6 turn out to have been guided by the FBI, that’ll be the final nail in the coffin.

It Wasn’t Just the FBI – The Capitol Police Also Had at Least 3 Operatives Planted Inside the Jan. 6 Trump Protests

American Stasi
The FBI admitted last week to The New York Times that they were running informants and operatives inside groups attending the January 6 rallies in Washington DC.

The FBI finally admitted they infiltrated the Jan. 6 rallies with informants. In fact, one of the first “protesters” inside the US Capitol was an FBI informant.
We all already knew this was happening as TGP reported back in July that an one undercover FBI informant was pushing a DEA agent to enter the US Capitol on Jan. 6.

And we also have proof that the FBI attempted to recruit ex-military to infiltrate pro-Trump groups.

Now there is also proof that the US Capitol Police were also running informants and operatives inside the Trump crowd including members who entered the US Capitol with the protesters.

Democrats have vowed to use every trick in the book to censor an upcoming Tucker Carlson report exposing the FBI’s Jan. 6 hoax.
Tucker reacted to a tweet posted by RINO Rep. Liz Cheney on Thursday in review of his upcoming expose she hasn’t even seen. Here is the tweet:
tucker-cheneytweet-1536x912-1.jpg.optimal.jpg

“According to Liz Cheney, this show is dangerous, because we dared to report on what actually happened on January 6th. This show is somehow, she says, abetting violence.”

“Now, if that argument sounds familiar, there’s a reason that it does. That argument is a staple of those hysterical purple-haired college activists you see yelling at people in viral videos. ‘Your speech is violence!’, they shout, ‘Our violence is speech!’”
“That is not how a free society works. Politicians don’t get to put parameters around your thoughts or conversations. Free people are permitted to ask any question they want.”
“What we found in the end bore no resemblance whatsoever to the story that you have heard repeatedly from Liz Cheney and from Nancy Pelosi, as well as from their many obedient mouthpieces in the media. They were lying.”
“It turns out that Liz Cheney is not simply a liar, she is also a coward.”

On Thursday Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) visited the Washington DC Gulag where the government is holding the Jan. 6 political prisoners.
The two lawmakers were denied entry again.

On Friday morning Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene joined Steve Bannon on The War Room to describe the conditions at the prison for Trump supporters.
Marjorie Taylor Greene says the prisoners are denied haircuts and Catholic prisoners are denied Communion at the prison. The guards tell them they must get vaccinated first.
Greene then told Steve Bannon that the prisoners believe the staff is putting chemicals and even pubic hair in their food. This is an assault on All Americans. What a dark time in American history.

In the aftermath of Jan. 6, the FBI suggested there was no evidence of Black Lives Matter or antifa members participating in the events. However, many Americans with knowledge of the events questioned this suggestion.

In “Capitol Punishment,” Jan. 6 attendees tell the true story of that day instead of the narratives pushed by the establishment media. The film premieres today — Thanksgiving Day — and you can get your copy now.
“We have not to date seen any evidence of anarchist violent extremists or people subscribed to antifa in connection with the sixth,” FBI Director Christopher Wray told the Senate Judiciary Committee on March 2, according to The Hill.
Yet in the film, retired United States Air Force Lt. General Thomas G. McInerny said Wray should not be trusted.
“J. Edgar Hoover would be proud of Director Wray,” he said. “He’s corrupt. We know Black Lives Matter was there, and we’ve identified them and antifa.”
If you are tired of being lied to, buy “Capitol Punishment” now to get the truth about Jan. 6.
John Guandolo, who previously served as an FBI liason to U.S. Capitol Police, also confirmed the presence of these groups and said “they were everywhere.”
Rich Gutowski, the CEO of a life insurance company called Philanthropic Life, said he saw a man on a “military-style microphone” telling participants who were in the Capitol building where to go.
“He wasn’t a participant, he was a director,” Gutowski said.
The events of Jan. 6 consisted of much more than just supporters of former President Donald Trump entering the Capitol building. “Capitol Punishment” seeks to tell the true, full story of those events — buy your copy now.

“Absolute And Unmitigated Liars”: Former DC National Guard Official Says Generals Fabricated January 6th Account

by ZeroHedge
December 6th 2021, 4:10 pm

Link: https://www.infowars.com/posts/abso...says-generals-fabricated-january-6th-account/

A former DC National Guard official has accused two senior Army officials of lying to Congress about the circumstances surrounding the January 6th Capitol riot in order to protect a top Army official who didn’t want to send the Guard to the Capitol, Politico reports.

In a 36-page memo sent to the Jan. 6 select committee this month, Col. Earl Matthews – who held high-level National Security Council and Pentagon positions under Trump – accused Army General Charles Flynn and Lt. Gen. Walter Piatt of being “absolute and unmitigated liars” for how they characterized the events of Jan. 6.

Of note, Flynn served as deputy chief of staff for operations on Jan. 6, while Matthews was serving as the top attorney to Maj. Gen. William Walker – then commanding general of the DC National Guard. Matthews was in a unique position to know what happened that day.

Matthews’ memo defends the Capitol attack response by Walker, who now serves as the House sergeant at arms, amplifying Walker’s previous congressional testimony about the hourslong delay in the military’s order for the D.C. National Guard to deploy to the riot scene. -Politico
Matthews accuses Flynn and Piatt of lying to Congress about how they responded to urgent requests for the DC guard to be quickly deployed, and claims that the Pentagon inspector general’s November report on the attack was “replete with factual inaccuracies.”

He says the Army has created its own ‘closely held’ revisionist document regarding the riot that’s “worthy of the best Stalinist or North Korea propagandist.’

“Every leader in the D.C. Guard wanted to respond and knew they could respond to the riot at the seat of government,” reads the memo.

Instead of responding, however, DC guard officials “set [sic] stunned watching in the Armory” while the attack unfolded for two hours during the certification of the 2020 election results.

The memo follows Walker’s own public call for the inspector general to retract its detailed report on the events of Jan. 6, as first reported by The Washington Post. Walker told the Post he objected to specific allegations by the Pentagon watchdog that Matthews’ memo also criticizes, calling the inspector general’s report “inaccurate” and “sloppy work.” -Politico
What actually went down, according to Matthews:

The memo says that at 2:30 p.m. on January 6, Matthews and Walker were on a conference call with senior military and law enforcement officials, in which then-Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund “pleaded” for the immediate deployment of the National Guard to the Capitol after rioters breached the perimeter.

Piatt and Flynn denied the request.

“LTG Piatt stated that it would not be his best military advice to recommend to the Secretary of the Army that the D.C. National Guard be allowed to deploy to the Capitol at that time,” Matthews wrote, adding: “LTGs Piatt and Flynn stated that the optics of having uniformed military personnel deployed to the U.S. Capitol would not be good.”

Instead, Piatt and Flynn suggested that the Guardsmen serve as de-facto DC police traffic control officers so that the cops could attend to the Capitol.

In another document obtained by Politico, Piatt and Flynn “recommended for DC Guard to standby” at 2:37 p.m. rather than immediately deploying to the Capitol during the riot.

Four minutes later, Flynn again “advised D.C. National Guard to standby until the request has been routed” to then-Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy as well as then-acting Defense Secretary Chris Miller.

Matthews says everyone on the call was “astounded.”

Piatt and Flynn then lied to Congress – denying that they had said the Guard shouldn’t deploy to the Capitol.

According to Matthews, they committed “outright perjury.”

#6: President Donald Trump incited an insurrection.

Parker: Take this as you will. This item is listed sixth, but I wanted to put it first because it’s the most significant lie and most consequential of them all. To suggest a then-sitting president was fomenting a coup against the state is not a minor charge. Though Pelosi and others used the Reichstag Fire to impeach Trump and prevent him from holding elected office, there is still a law on the books that can lead to the death penalty for treason. When Joe Biden, Democrats, and the media parrot the schtick that Donald Trump incited an insurrection, they are making assertions tantamount to saying Donald Trump led a treasonous revolt.
Now, I didn’t watch any coverage of Thursday’s pathetic solemn remembrances, but many others did. Here is what a few people were saying afterwards:
The American Spectator: “Biden also leveled this preposterous charge at his predecessor during his Thursday morning remarks, saying the former president had ‘rallied the mob to attack.’ In reality, Trump explicitly told his supporters at his Jan. 6 rally to ‘peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.’ These are not the words of a man attempting to incite a riot or overthrow the government.”
American Thinker: “His claims about democracy being attacked and the will of the people being under assault and the Constitution being under attack were garbage, too. We all know he doesn’t care about democracy. This is the vax mandate president, he’s the thug who tells you what to do with your own body or no school and airline flights for you.”
There is no shortage of other outlets making similar observations. In a post of my own from the day after, I also remarked that if any insurrection against America, its government, and its ideals, then it is clearly coming from the orbit of Joe Biden et al. I said this:
“The biggest J6 narrative that Democrats practice onanism over is the idea that our governing system of democratic origin and presumably the guiding principles for it found in the Constitution are worth valuing and were under attack. Brandon’s speech made sure to mention this, and included the phrase that Trump unleashed a “dagger at the throat of democracy.’”
Given everything the left does to undermine each Constitutional right to speech (and by extension, thoughts), assembly, guns, due process, health decisions, property, and liberty as a whole, it resounds pretty emptily that Trump was or is a threat to democracy. The only threat to democratic principles is from the left. Full stop. It’s simply astounding that people can still believe this.

#5: What happened in D.C. that day was more than just an ill-advised effort by overzealous protesters and an epic failure in basic security.

PF: Since the very beginning, and in fact from the reporting as it happened, the coverage of the incident by the mainstream media has totally missed the point. I remember thinking that day as reports trickled in: How is this happening at our Capitol?
They’ve called it an ‘armed insurrection,’ and ‘an attack,’ assertions which are absurd on their face. There were no shots fired by any of the protesters, and only a handful were armed with any weapons. The protesters should not have entered the building, and those who did so illegally should be prosecuted – though there is strong evidence suggesting that many of those who did were either encouraged to do so or enabled by leftwing operatives. But the real scandal is the fact that they were able to get into the building in the first place.
We’ve seen the footage of Capitol Police officers just stepping aside and allowing the protesters into the building, the question is, why? There’s no legitimate reason for such a security breach. It’s unthinkable that a similar breach would ever happen at the White House, and if it did there would be outrage from the left; and rightfully so. Therefore, why is there such a lack of attention on the failures of the Capitol Police, and more importantly, those who control them?
It’s hard to imagine that the failed security on 1/6 wasn’t at least somewhat intentional. The ease with which the protesters entered, and the ensuing narrative that ignored those failures, makes it fairly obvious: Certain people in power wanted 1/6 to happen for political purposes, and in fact helped facilitate the security failure.
And let’s just imagine, for a second, if the situation was reversed. If Antifa protesters had done the same thing if Trump had won in November 2020. The story would have been a footnote on the evening news and featured on page 10 of the New York Times the following day – with lots of shoulder shrugs.

#4: It’s a day on par with the Pearl Harbor Attack and September 11th.

Parker: This line has been used since the initial weaponized reporting was used to incite hatred against conservatives and seek to expel Trump from political office. On the one-year anniversary, Kamala Harris made sure to make it her capstone remark. She actually said this:
“Certain dates echo throughout history…Including dates that instantly remind all who have lived them where they were and what they were doing when our democracy came under assault. Dates that occupy not only a place on our calendar but a place in our collective memory. Dec. 7, 1941, Sept. 11, 2001, and Jan. 6, 2021.”
I need to stop writing and collect myself. She actually said. What’s next, a June 4th speech to solemnly condone the insurrection at Tiananmen Square? These people, and anyone who supports them, live on the wrong side of morality and history.
The lie is emotionally powerful since we all resonate with those dates, thanks to our government-school indoctrination from ages 5-18. A stronger argument can be made that our swamp allowed both to happen by ignoring intelligence reports and being hopeful of some national tragedy, as both provided powerful impetuses to engage in extensive war, thus enriching the military industrial complex and eroding personal freedoms. The sacrifices and lost lives of the individuals on those days, the shipmen in the harbor or the helpless souls stuck in the towers – that is very real. What is disingenuous is the U.S. government’s response and faux compassion. The same can be said of the events on January 6th in this regard.
Make no mistake, the lives lost were very real and leave empty holes in the surviving kin, but the likes of Harris and Biden do not lose a millisecond of sleep over the loss of an Ashli Babbitt or Brian Sicknick. They only lie in bed thinking how they can politicize their deaths for personal and party gain.
Anyone – and I mean anyone – who thinks that what happened on January 6th is on par with actual attacks like 12/7 or 9/11 should be prevented from parenting and voting immediately. This is mental, philosophical, and moral derangement. It is precisely why we find ourselves in this death spiral as a country. Can you imagine another generation growing up in this fetid cultural stew?

#3: The security breach at the Capitol Building represented a serious threat to our very democracy.

PF: We’ve seen some serious threats to our democracy over the years, so we know what they look like. The Civil War was the most severe, obviously, and the survival of the union was in question for four years. Pearl Harbor was another such event, though not as threatening as the Civil War, and the same can be said of September 11, 2001. And let’s not forget that British troops actually entered the White House during the War of 1812 and set it on fire, making a mess of Dolly Madison’s tidy homemaking. Those were examples of true threats to our democracy. A few hundred fired-up Trump supporters with flags, signs, silly hats, and smart phones doesn’t come close.
If anything, what happened at the Capitol Building last January serves as an example of the durability of our Democracy. The premises were secured within a few hours. No lawmakers were injured or even seriously threatened. And Vice-President Mike Pence, who was on the losing side of the outcome, cast his vote to certify the election. That is not how a serious threat to our democratic institution unfolds, that is the process working as intended.
It’s clear what is really at play with the left’s storyline here: “Our Republic was hanging by a thread.” Democrats and their MSM cronies need their opponents to appear as villains and depicting them as bloodthirsty boogiemen serves that purpose. Joe Biden is a disaster, Democrats in Congress are collapsing under their own ineptitude, and the left’s political and cultural stances are becoming increasingly unpopular. They can’t run on their own record, and they can’t allow their supporters to recognize the reality of their own breakdowns. So, they need a distraction. They’re saying to America, “Don’t look at how incompetent we are, look at those mean old conservatives; the Republicans. And look at that horrible thing they did… a year ago.” Because that’s all they have left to run on.

#2: The political right – as opposed to the political left – is a veritable threat to American traditions and governance.

Parker: As you mention, anyone with a functioning brain stem could tell that whatever happened on January 6th, it wasn’t going to undermine the system of governance that, for better or worse, operates in the United States. Just exactly how do the shrieking nabobs think so-called insurrectionists planned both an overthrow of the federal apparatus and contingency for establishing an alternative government? For an insurrection to take place, you need both – an overthrow of the old and a replacement with the new. Without a plan, without weapons, and without anyone already in the system to facilitate these processes, this insurrection was going to be about as successful as a kid that runs away from home with a tent in the backyard. It was all for show.
Neither the media nor the pols that harp on this outrageous idea ever explore some deeper questions. Instead, they fire cheap shots that land easily on the low-functioning American populace: “America must have been under attack because Nancy Pelos said so! AOC almost died and she’s credible! Don Lemon was crying!” I find myself thinking it’d all be funny if it weren’t so serious quite often these days.
I have an interesting and simple thought experiment for conservatives to test on their idiot friends and family that still buy into this. First, ask them what America means to them and what it stands for. You can ask them to elaborate what’s in the Constitution if you want it narrowed down. (They don’t have to agree with the Constitution, but since that document forms our government it makes sense that any attack on our system would be an attack on the words ratified in 1791.)
Next, ask them if censoring opposing ideas is unhealthy for democracy. Ask them if compelling speech accords with our vision of freedom. Ask them if deleting entire amendments is a slippery slope. Ask them if suspending basic liberties is ever justified. Ask them if putting citizens in jail indefinitely, in awful conditions, without knowing why or having charges brought against them could be seen as housing political prisoners.
Then, ask them how the political right does that. They will stumble, or you can easily swat their tepid attempts, and then you can delineate exactly how the left attacks each of these concepts with glee.
Finally, ask them how Donald Trump threatened any of this in the same way. Words aren’t enough; what actions did he deploy while in office?
It likely won’t do anything good, but at least you can confirm you’re dealing with a leftist Borg who has been entirely assimilated at this point. No further conversations required.

#1: The actions by the protesters were indicative that all conservatives and Republican leaders share culpability.

PF: This is perhaps the biggest lie of all and is at the heart of the left’s strategy regarding 1/6. Democrats and their accomplices would have us believe that through guilt by association, not only are Donald Trump the Capitol trespassers insurrectionists, everyone who voted for and supports Trump are equally guilty. This has been the left’s strategy for several years now, dating back to at least Hillary Clinton and her comment about “deplorables.“ Their approach is to not just disagree with our side, but to demonize it. And that mindset comes through loud and clear with their rhetoric on 1/6.
Let’s forget about citing the reasons on why the “guilt by association” narrative is so ridiculous, that fact seems obvious at this point. Instead, we should recognize the political malpractice it represents. Their assertion that all of us who voted for Trump are complicit in an insurrection isn’t just a lie, it’s a missed opportunity, and one which may seal the Democrats’ fate in the coming elections.
Joe Biden ran on a promise of “unity and healing” last year, and millions of Americans – naïve Americans – believed him. But even those who didn’t believe Biden agree with the sentiment that America should be more unified. It was clearly just a ploy by Biden, and he never had any intention on helping the country heal or come back together. Biden is one of the most divisive presidents in history, and worse than even Barack Obama. If Biden were to tone down the hysteria on 1/6, stop demonizing the right, and say something like, “it’s time to put that behind us,” he could really make some headway with voters, particularly independents and moderates.
But Joe Biden isn’t going to do that because Joe Biden is a coward. Biden is terrified of taking a stance opposing his radical left base, and therein lies Biden’s problem. The far-left faction of the Democratic Party is so invested in portraying Donald Trump as the Antichrist and his supporters as evil minions, that they can’t allow Biden to be reasonable on the topic of 1/6. They must stay with their narrative and continue to try and divide the country because to do otherwise would result in them being exposed for what they are: dishonest, anti-American opportunists.

11 Oath Keepers Charged With Seditious Conspiracy To Prevent Transfer Of Power On Jan. 6

Eleven members of the Oath Keepers, including the group’s founder Stewart Rhodes, were indicted Wednesday by a federal grand jury in the District of Columbia for an alleged “seditious conspiracy” to attack the U.S. Capitol and prevent the certification of electoral votes from the 2020 presidential election.

The indictment, returned Jan. 12 and unsealed Thursday, brings the first Jan. 6 charges for Elmer Stewart Rhodes III, 56, of Granbury, Texas; and Edward Vallejo, 63, of Phoenix, Arizona. Rhodes faces a count of seditious conspiracy and four other charges from Jan. 6. Vallejo is charged with seditious conspiracy and three other counts.

It is the first federal indictment alleging seditious conspiracy on Jan. 6, a charge that upon conviction carries a maximum prison term of 20 years.

Rhodes is the founder and leader of the Oath Keepers, a nationwide group of current and former military, law enforcement, and first responders who aim to defend and preserve constitutional rights, based on the oath they took to defend the United States from “all enemies, foreign and domestic.”

Attorney Jon Moseley of http://jonathonmoseley.com/was on the phone with Stewart Rhodes when they arrested him. Norm Pattis joins with Alex Jones to break down the charges of sedition.

The indictment includes new charges against nine previously charged Jan. 6 defendants: Thomas Caldwell, 67, of Berryville, Virginia; Joseph Hackett, 51, of Sarasota, Florida; Kenneth Harrelson, 41, of Titusville, Florida; Joshua James, 34, of Arab, Alabama; Kelly Meggs, 52, of Dunnellon, Florida; Roberto Minuta, 37, of Prosper, Texas; David Moerschel, 44, of Punta Gorda, Florida; Brian Ulrich, 44, of Guyton, Georgia; and Jessica Watkins, 39, of Woodstock, Ohio.

In addition to their previous charges, the defendants are charged with seditious conspiracy and other Jan. 6 offenses.Among the charges spread across the 11 defendants are destruction of government property, civil disorder, tampering with documents or proceedings, and conspiracy to prevent an officer from discharging any duties, the indictment said.

Jonathon Moseley, a Washington D.C. attorney who represents Kelly Meggs in his criminal case and Stewart Rhodes in his upcoming appearance before the select Jan. 6 committee, blasted the indictment as a publicity ploy.

“This is just a public relations gloss on the existing facts,” Moseley told The Epoch Times in a statement.
“Faced with criticism from leading Democrats for not supporting their leftist narrative, the prosecutors have just slapped a new label on the false allegations already made. But I see no facts that would support the new charges.
“Furthermore, the U.S. Attorney and his prosecutors know that they are lying. They have known since March to May 2021 that every allegation they are making is a lie,” Moseley said.
“We have the documents. We have the proof. They know that we know that this prosecution is a total lie. And yet they are forging ahead with prosecutorial misconduct.”
William Miller, public information officer for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, declined comment on Moseley’s assertions. “We typically do not comment on cases beyond what is stated or filed in court,” Miller said.

Eight other Oath Keepers previously charged in the sweeping Jan. 6 investigation are defendants in two related cases, the U.S. Department of Justice said in a statement.

In one of those cases, charges were leveled against James Beeks, 49, of Orlando, Florida; Donovan Crowl, 51, of Cable, Ohio; William Isaacs, 22, of Kissimmee, Florida; Connie Meggs, 60, of Dunnellon, Florida; Sandra Parker, 63, of Morrow, Ohio; Bernie Parker, 71, of Morrow, Ohio; and Laura Steele, 53, of Thomasville, North Carolina. The third case involves charges against Jonathan Walden, 57, of Birmingham, Alabama.

The 19 defendants named in the three indictments are charged with corruptly obstructing an official proceeding. Eighteen of the 19 defendants face charges of conspiring to obstruct an official proceeding, and conspiring to prevent an officer of the United States from discharging a duty. Eleven of the 19 are charged with seditious conspiracy.

The first indictment charges that following the Nov. 3, 2020 presidential election, Rhodes conspired with the other defendants to “oppose by force” the transfer of presidential power from Donald J. Trump to Joseph Biden Jr. The group communicated using encrypted messenger applications to lay out plans to travel to Washington D.C. for the Jan. 6 certification of the Electoral College votes.

Rhodes and several co-conspirators planned to bring weapons to support the operation, the indictment charges. Others were organized into teams that were trained in paramilitary tactics. The groups planned to bring gear that included knives, batons, camouflaged uniforms, tactical vests with protective plates, helmets, eye protection, and radio equipment.

According to the Department of Justice summary of the alleged conspiracy, at about 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 6—30 minutes after protesters and rioters breached the Capitol building—a group of Oath Keepers marched in a “stack” formation up the Capitol’s east steps and “joined a mob and made their way into the Capitol.” A stack is a military-style tactical formation used to breach buildings.

Later, a second group made another stack formation, marched from the west to the east side of the Capitol, up the stairs, and into the building, the Department of Justice said in a statement. Other Oath Keepers remained outside the city in “quick-reaction force” (QRF) teams, “ready to transport firearms and other weapons into Washington D.C. in support of operations aimed at using force to stop the lawful transfer of presidential power,” the DOJ statement said.

Moseley alleged the indictment is nothing more than a restatement of previous charges. “I look forward to drinks on Kelly Meggs’ new yacht after the civil lawsuits for malicious prosecution,” he said.

Moseley said he was on the phone with Rhodes discussing his upcoming appearance before the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol when the FBI called Rhodes.

“He patched me in on the call and I identified myself as his lawyer. The FBI special agent said they were outside and he needed to come out with his hands up and be arrested,” Moseley told The Epoch Times. Moseley said he stayed on the line for 10 minutes “before they hung up the phone.”

We now know that she was in Pelosi’s office.
