Triple Shooting Suspect Arrested
Metro Nashville Police arrested 15 year-old Lavender Howse early Monday morning. He was accused of killing one man, critically injuring a child and shooting a woman who was walkiing her dog, all during a Sunday crime spree.
Police said on Sunday evening, Howse stole a maroon Honda from a gas station at the corner of Douglas Avenue and Ellington Parkway.
They said the teen then drove the car to the Shoe Carnival on Gallatin Road in the Rivergate area, where he attempted to steal a pair of tennis shoes.

when the teen pulled out a semi-automatic handgun and shot the security guard six times, killing him

Police said Howse then drove to the Rivergate Mall and approached a man in the parking lot and demanded money from him.
The victim, who had his son with him, said he pulled a gun to defend himself when Howse tried to carjack him.
Police said Howse then shot the victim's 9 year-old son in the face. The child was still in the intensive care unit at Vanderbilt Medical Center Monday morning.
Police said the teen left the mall and drove to east Nashville, where he shot a woman as she was walking her dog. She was recovering Monday morning.
Police officers searched for Howse throughout the night and eventually spotted him at the Berkshire Apartments in east Nashville around 2:00 Monday morning.
He was arrested and taken to the Juvenile Justice Center in downtown Nas

lle, where he faces several charges including homicide, attempted homicide and aggravated robbery.
