The Chiefs cut recently signed cornerback Damon Arnette on Saturday, hours after he was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and other charges, according to reports.
Arnette, a first-round pick of the Raiders in 2020, was booked into the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas overnight Friday on two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, carrying or concealing a gun without a permit, possession of marijuana or cannabis and possession of a class one or two level controlled substance, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.

The Raiders released Arnette in November after video emerged of the 25-year-old making death threats while waving a gun. Then-GM Mike Mayock called it a “very painful decision” after the Raiders “spent significant time, effort and resources trying to help him in all aspects of his life.” Mayock was fired by Las Vegas this offseason.
The Chiefs then signed Arnette to a reserve/futures deal last week with a commitment to counseling and zero tolerance, according to NFL Network. But his tenure in Kansas City proved to be short-lived as he will no longer get a shot to make the team next season.
The Ohio State product has played in 13 games across two seasons in the NFL.
