Two men and two juveniles were arrested in connection with a weekend shooting in front of a restaurant in downtown Suffolk that left three people injured.
Police pulled over a vehicle Monday night that was identified as having been involved in the Saturday shooting. The driver, 18-year-old Ezaviya Jordan, and 19-year-old Elijawayn Anthony, both from Suffolk, were arrested.
Jordan is charged with three counts of aggravated assault, four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and one count each of conspiracy to commit a felony and carrying a concealed weapon.
Anthony is charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and one count of carrying a concealed weapon.

Two juveniles, who have not been named, were also arrested in connection with the shooting, police said. Jordan and Anthony are being held at Western Tidewater Regional Jail, while the juveniles are being held at Chesapeake Juvenile Services.
The shooting was reported at 1 a.m. on Saturday at The High Tide Restaurant on Commerce Street. Officers found two victims at the scene with “serious” injuries that were not considered life-threatening, and later learned that a third victim self-transported to a hospital for treatment of an injury that is also not considered life-threatening.
The investigation is ongoing.

SUFFOLK, Va. — Four people were arrested Monday night after Suffolk police pulled over a vehicle connected to a triple shooting that happened in front of a downtown restaurant over the weekend.

Surveillance video inside the High Tide restaurant captured the moment shots rang out on Commerce Street in Suffolk. The shooting injured three people early Saturday morning.

Jennifer Howell said her daughter worked at the restaurant the night of the shooting and said other employees' cars were hit by bullets.
High Tide owner Katy Tew said she was shocked this happened in front of her restaurant. Her vehicle was struck by bullets, too.

Of the four suspects police arrested Monday, two were under 18 years old.

The driver of the car was identified as Ezaviya Jordan, 18. He faces three counts of aggravated assault, four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, conspiracy to commit a felony, and a concealed weapon charge.

Elijawayn Anthony, 19, faces two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and a concealed weapon charge.

The two underage suspects -- who haven't been named because they are minors -- are being held at Chesapeake Juvenile Services.

“It is going to affect us," said Tew. "People see that it’s right outside our restaurant and they made me think it was something that we could’ve prevented but I don’t think there was anything I could’ve done to prevent that. I just think it is a community issue."

The shooting happened around 1 a.m. Saturday. Officers responded to Commerce Street after hearing several gunshots coming from the area.

Medics took two people to a hospital to be treated for gunshot wounds, while a third victim took themselves to the hospital. All three have injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

The Commerce Street shooting was one of several Hampton Roads experienced over the weekend. From Saturday through Monday morning, at least 12 people were shot across the region, including another triple shooting in Suffolk.

The second triple shooting happened on Old College Drive following a fight early Monday morning. Two of the victims are in critical condition, according to police.

Both Suffolk shootings are still being investigated. Anyone with information about what happened can reach out to Suffolk police at 757-923-2350 or the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
