Girl abducted near school, raped

Police are searching for a man who they say kidnapped and sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl near Northwestern High School.

Lt. Jerry Waldrop of Rock Hill Police said the victim was washing her car about 12:30 p.m. at a self-service car wash at 2460 W. Main St., across from the school, when an unknown man grabbed her from behind and shoved her into his trunk.

"She said she was in there for a while," Waldrop said.

The victim told police the man drove her to an unknown location, maybe somewhere around Fort Mill, where he sexually assaulted her several times, Waldrop said.

According to the report, the attacker was a <span style='font-size:12pt;line-height:100%'>black man between 22 and 26, about 6 feet tall
and around 210 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He may have been dr

Police release sketch of suspect in car washing kidnapping (registration required)

Rock Hill police released a sketch Tuesday of a man accused of kidnapping a 16-year-old from a car wash this weekend.

According to police, the teen was washing her car at a car wash in the 2400 block of W. Main Street Sunday when the man grabbed her and forced her into the trunk of his vehicle around 12:30 p.m.

The girl disconnected the tail lights and looked out to see where she was going. She was able to tell police she was taken to the Fort Mill area. The suspect raped the girl several
times at an unknown location, police said.

Serial Rape Suspect Behind Bars; Detectives Relieved (complete article at link)

MONROE, N.C. -- Detectives from York and Lancaster counties, Rock Hill, S.C. and Monroe N.C. are relieved that a man they call a serial rapist in behind bars.

"It's hard to explain how much relief it was when we found out that this was the person responsible and that he was in jail and we didn't have to worry about it," said York County Sheriff's Department&
#39;s Glenn Williams.

The first attack was in Monroe on Jan. 16. Police said Morrison assaulted a woman and stole her car. The second attack in Monroe was on Jan. 25.

Detectives said
[Mandel Sadat] Morrison abducted a woman from a Fort Mill club and raped her on Feb. 10,. And detectives said Morrison kidnapped and raped a 16-year-old girl from a Rock Hill car wash on March 20.

It was the teenager's description of Morrison that led to a sketch that pulled the cases together.

Detectives said they were amazed that the teen remembered so much detail. The teen also picked Morrison out of a line up. He also had the tattoo of a panther on his left arm that she described to police.

"I've been doing this for 31 years, this is the first time I've seen one be this in-depth in what she was able to tell us," said Rock Hill Police Lt. Jerry Waldrop.

Police said Morrison had been driving the stolen car for months and had placed at least two victims in the trunk.

Morrison has been in the Union County Jail since April 21 on unrelated charges. He now faces 18 more charges.
