Jonathan Dantzler, 29, also shot at a potential witness in 2012, a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Ohio says. Dantzler is of 19 defendants charged in a Columbus gang-related racketeering conspiracy.

Prosecutors say Dantzler was a member of the T&A Crips, which gets its name from Trevitt and Atcheson streets in the King-Lincoln District of Columbus. Authorities say the gang used violence and intimidation to control the neighborhood. As part of his guilty plea in May 2021, Dantzler admitted to shooting Franky Tention on July 1, 2012, prosecutors say. Dantzler shot Tention because he was a member of the rival “Milo Bloods” gang and drove into T&A territory in a “sign of disrespect,” court documents show.

Dantzler also opened fire at a residence of a potential witness to intimidate her from cooperating with law-enforcement authorities, prosecutors say. Gang members were expected to violently retaliate if members and associates were “disrespected,” threatened, intimidated or were violently attacked.
