WILCOX COUNTY, Ga.
– Authorities arrested 34-year-old Pineview Mayor Brandon Holt on January 16, 2024, on theft charges, and he was removed from office following his indictment. Holt faces 75 counts of theft by taking for misappropriating city funds.
Governor Brian Kemp signed an executive order on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, that stated Holt would be suspended “immediately and without further action pending the final disposition of the case or until the expiration of his term of office, whichever occurs first.”

Court documents revealed that Holt allegedly directed over $64,400 into his personal bank account via 75 Cash App transactions. After his arrest, he posted a bond and was released.
Officials began investigating Holt in October 2023 after a drive-by shooting in LaGrange left him with a gunshot wound. District Attorney Brad Rigby and Wilcox County Sheriff Steve Mauldin requested the assistance of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation with the case.

Shortly after Holt faced indictment in March, Kemp instructed the creation of a review commission. The commission determined that Holt’s indictment “adversely affects the administration of the Office of Mayor of Pineview and that the rights and interests of the public are adversely affected thereby.”
A Bibb County indictment revealed that Holt faced similar charges in the past. He was charged with theft for using Macon Asphalt account numbers to steal over $22,000.
This case is pending in court.
