COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — A key member of Ohio State's 2014 national championship football team didn't show up for a court appearance Monday, resulting in an arrest warrant being issued.
Darron Lee was charged back in April following separate alleged instances of assault and domestic violence.
Lee pushed a woman "against the wall, throwing her to the floor and striking her face and head 8 to 9 times with his closed fists," according to that arrest report.

During that arrest, Lee initially told police that that woman showed up at the residence unannounced and punched him in the face, but Lee later recanted that statement, according to the report.

In the arrest report for the other incident, back in October, Lee allegedly threw a phone at a different woman "which struck her head, causing her ear to bleed, grabbing her neck while punching the pillow beside her head, causing red marks to her neck."
Lee, 28, then placed "his hand around her neck and lifting up, and dropping her on the ground," the arrest report said.
It's not clear which of the incidents Lee was due in court for Monday, but his no-show means he could face even more charges once law enforcement catches up with him.
Lee, a former OSU linebacker, was the defensive MVP of Ohio State's unforgettable Sugar Bowl win over Alabama in 2015, paving the way for the Buckeyes most recent football title.
He played high school football at New Albany and after leaving OSU early to declare for the NFL Draft, Lee was drafted in the first round by the New York Jets. He also played for Kansas City, with whom he won a Super Bowl, as well as Buffalo and Las Vegas.
