(Black) Abington man held without bail in Brockton murder (of white drug dealer)
BROCKTON – One minute Matthew Ohrenberger was sitting next to his close friend Richard Matthew Tangherlini Jr. in a car smoking marijuana with a man they had picked up and to whom they were going to sell $40 worth of the drug. The next minute, police said, the man in the back seat – Evyn Garner, 22, of Abington – pulled out a gun and put it to the back of Tangherlini’s head. “We were casual, talking like normal people and then he pulled the gun out,” Ohrenberger, 27, said. “We were trying to diffuse the situation. Then Matt tried to fight him off in the car. I was sitting right next to him. I was in the car when it happened.” Garner fired the gun three times, striking Tangherlini once in the throat, police said. ‘That’s the piece of (expletive) that shot Matt.’” - (Black-on-white)
