Baltimore Co. Man Faces Child Porn, Sexual Abuse Charges

RANDALLSTOWN, Md. (WJZ) — A Baltimore County man has been arrested and charged with possession of child pornography and sexual abuse of a minor, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.
Police said they began an investigation after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children last week. That investigation led to the discovery that a pornographic image of a “very young child” had been uploaded from the home of Kenneth Majeed Smith, 37, of McChurch Court in Randallstown. Police executed a search warrant at the home on Monday and said they found thousands of images of child pornography on computer devices. The home is just blocks away from Randallstown Elementary School.
Smith was arrested and is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center without bond. Detectives said Smith also had a sexual encounter with at least one child. He now faces 13 charges related to child pornography and sexual abuse of a minor.
The computer devices taken from the home will be examined by the Baltimore County Police Digital and Multimedia Evidence Unit. Baltimore County Police continue to investigate and are working to identify the children in the photos.
