An enraged attacker punched an elderly can collector who he accused of littering all over a Lower East Side sidewalk, new video shows.
The 77-year-old man was collecting soda cans from the trash around 2 a.m. Sept. 12 on Orchard Street near Stanton Street when another man confronted him about the cans strewn on the ground, authorities said.
The video clip, released late Tuesday, shows the suspect sifting through the garbage when the suspect appeared to chat with him before delivering a swift blow — briefly knocking him to the ground.
The suspect then picked up a few bottles and put them in a trash bag as he spoke to someone else who showed up at the scene, the clip shows.

He later fled and cops are still looking for him, authorities said.
