UC Athletics Official Resigns After DUI Arrest
The inaptly named Bruce Ivory
CINCINNATI -- A University of Cincinnati athletics department official resigned Friday after he was arrested and charged with DUI overnight.
Bruce Ivory, associate athletic director of academics and compliance, was arrested about 1 a.m. Friday after he was weaving on Winton Road, Greenhills police said.
He was the third UC athletics official arrested for DUI in a year, following basketball coach Bob Huggins last summer and assistant basketball coach Keith LeGree in March.

UC Athletic Director Bob Goin issued this statement:
"Bruce Ivory
is a respected, loyal employee who has risen under my administration to a very influential position as associate athletic director for academics and compliance. That influence relates to emphasis on student-athletes academic discipline and athletic compliance -- staying within the rules.
"I am saddened by the unfortunate turn of events which led to Bruce's resignation."
Ivory was head of academic services, which monitors the classroom progress of more than 400 student-athletes, and oversaw the compliance office, which makes sure the school and its athletes adhere to NCAA rules.
