Buena Vista Township --(05/27/05)--A teacher accused of having sex with her students is prepared to admit to the crimes. Now a deal with the prosecutor is made.
The accusations are tough to imagine, that Ricker Middle School band teacher Laura Findlay took teen boys out of class to perform sex acts on them.
Joel Doepker had more.
The seven-year band teacher at Ricker will plead guilty to the 20 counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. In exchange, she wouldn't serve more than 25 years in prison.
If she were found guilty in a court of law, a judge could sentence her to more time, or to life.
Findlay is accus
ed of sexual relations with five 14-year-old boys from Ricker Middle School from November
of last year to this February. I bet they were White boys. Pedophiles LOVE White boys.
In court testimony earlier this month, one of the boys said he walked into the band room last November to find Findlay and four other boys talking about sex.
A different 14 year old testified that she danced on his lap in the band room at the school in front of the other boys, that she performed sex acts on them inside the school, and behind the K-Mart in Buena Vista Township.
The plea bargain is contingent on Findlay pleading guilty to the sex crimes. If she changes her mind, a trial would begin, but she's expected to plead during a hearing June 6.
The presiding judge must agree to the deal. Findlay is on paid leave from the school and remains in the Saginaw County Jail.
