Eric Tunnell Anderson

SEALE, AL (WTVM) - An arrest has been made in the homicide investigation of Eric Anderson's death in Seale, Ala.

Russell County Sheriff Heath Taylor confirms the arrest of Anthony Lavell Carter Jr., a.k.a. "A.J." Carter, of Fort Mitchell, Ala. on murder charges in connection with Anderson's death.

Another suspect for the murder is still on the run. Russell County Sheriff's Office issued a Capital Murder Warrant for 24-year-old Jeramiah Levi Sokolgz, a.k.a. "Red".

The method of murder appeared to be blunt force with round object, like a baseball bat or pipe, according to Taylor.

Taylor says Anderson knew Sokolgz though playing video games together. He says the suspected motive was robbery of electronics in Anderson's home.

All of the missing items from the home have been recovered.

Carter claims he did not know Anderson very well, and he says he never went inside the trailer, but was present for the murder.

Authorities describe Sokolgz as a black male, 6'3" and 170 lbs. He was last seen wearing a red shirt, black shorts, black shoes, and a black Falcons ball cap.

Authorities ask anyone with information on the subject to contact Russell County Sheriff's Office day or night at (334)298-6535.

Jeramiah Levi Sokolgz, one of two suspects accused in the beating death of a Seale, Ala., man was transferred to the Russell County Jail on Monday after his Saturday arrest in Columbus, authorities said Thursday. Russell County Sheriff Heath Taylor said Sokolgz, 24, returned on Monday to face the capital murder charge in the death of Eric Tunnell Anderson who was found slain April 22 at his 150 Avalon Circle mobile home. He was taken into custody without incident about 4 p.m. Saturday after the Greyhound bus he was riding arrived from Atlanta. “We got him back,” Taylor said. “He is in the county jail and everything is running smooth.” Anthony Lavell Carter, 18, was the first suspect arrested in the homicide. He was apprehended around 1 a.m. April 25 at his Seminole Trail home in Fort Mitchell, Ala. He is charged with one count of murder in the death of Anderson. Bond was set at $500,000 for Carter and Sokolgz is held on $1 million at the jail.
